This is the sort of restaurant that gave me a menu without the prices on it. That should tell you all you need to know. We've eaten better food and had better service elsewhere in Venice. The wine is poured then placed on a shelf out of reach. Ok if the service is sufficiently attentive. Here not only did I... More

Like on previous visits everything you try here is really very good. The seating is a bit awkward, they take a lot of time to bring the bread. And why didn't they offer me grappa or limoncello like they did the other guests? That's why they missed my fifth point.

We enjoyed an evening meal here midweek. The restaurant wasn't especially busy. Its quite expensive but well worth it.We chose the tasting menu and were asked if we were happy with all fish. That suited us perfectly.Polpetti were first ,followed by an oyster fritter, tuna tartare, frito misto, oven baked sea bass, goats cheese and finally choice of dessert from the menu card.We went for... This restaurant is excellent. The atmosphere is delightful. The staff are gracious and helpful. The choice of fish is exceptional. This was our second visit and we will be going back.

We booked Da Fiore months in advance of our Christmas Eve dinner. Our expectations were high, but even with low expectations we would have been disappointed. We recognize that working Christmas Eve isn't ideal, but the staff were remarkably unpleasant. The wine and food are unreasonably overpriced, and the atmosphere is drab. We are big fans of traditional/"old school" restaurants,... More

Recommended by a friend, we went here on our first night in Venice and were not disappointed. The service and food is superb. We shared some courses and had wine by the glass to match the food. The food was prepared and presented well including baked salmon in fennel, tempura baked oysters (beautiful) and a beef risotto. We would strongly... More

No imagination, no brightness, no colour, no freshness in this OLD SCHOOL restaurant which i´m sure is delicious for those traditional gourmets who love to sit down and be extremely well attended by costumed waiters. Good wines but dull kitchen. Extremely expensive. Only romantic for those who still mix cows with pigs.

We went for lunch so the restaurant was quiet but still great atmosphere There was a choice of 4 menus (lunch only) all at €50 each including a glass of wine. À la carte option as well of course. We took a menu each and were very happy with the food and wine. Highly recommend this place.

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
