We enjoyed our food very much. The prices were reasonable as they had a fixed price for 20 euro which included wine. Service was better than most restaurants in Venice. Overall in Venice we found the wait staff less than attentive. This was a pleasant and appreciated change.

Went to zorzi's based on the reviews on trip advisor. Disappointed to say that the spaghetti with clams and tagliatelle bolognese was very salty. Maybe just a one off, but we won't be going back. Venue and service was lovely.

It is recommended as a place, where the locals eat. Indeed, one can see there a lot of people who are (no doubt) locals. The food feels wholesome and is delicious, decent prices, caring service. If you are after nice interiors though, the place will not impress you - it is pretty primitive on decor.

Went as a group of 6 for lunch, was greeted kindly. 4 ordered pizzas, one pasta and one meat dish. Three tables came in and ordered after us, they were all locals, they all recieved their meals and left before any of our food came out. The pizzas came out on their own. 5 minutes later the meat dish came... More

We came upon this restaurant whilst trying to escape the knee high flood waters coming in from San Marco. The lovely waitress welcomed us in and took us upstairs as the floods had taken over the ground floor. What surprised us was the quality of the food - it was excellent and I take my hat of to the chef... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
