We have visited here for the Dinner. We order Spaghetti with Clams for starter. But they put to much peterseli, so the taste of clam is disappear. We order fish fillet and fried calamari for the second course and Baked vegetable for side dish. The...More

If you've traveled with kids you know that sometimes you just stop at the nearest place to due to those starving kids. We did that here, and regretted it. I had shrimp and polenta. I literally ate 1 bite of the shrimp and thought it...More

We went to this traditional osteria in the baccari's area as we were looking for some bites during a warm afternoon. We shared some cicchetti and 2 dishes. At the end, we found it too expensive for the average food quality we had. Spritzs were...More

The dinner we had here was the worst of our trip. Basically, the food was mediocre except for the seafood appetizer which was awful. There was cooked spinach on the plate (why??) which tasted like it had come from a can. We were seated in...More

We stopped here for lunch on our first day in Venice and it was a wonderful little spot. We both ordered 2 different types of seafood pasta and it was delicious. The seafood tasted fresh and the pasta was light with a really good sauce....More

I think this was the best food I tasted on my entire trip. You have to book in advance but it's worth it for an authentic taste of Venice.

Beautiful food. Very reasonable and great that. It is away from tourist areas. The place is quirky friend,y with strange toilet but no problem.

Just what was needed after travelling to Venezia from Umbria earlier in the day. Met up with friends and attended the Diaspora Pavilion opening at Palazzo Pisani. The Osteria catered for our group of seven's diverse dietary requirements at the end of the evening. My...More

Al Mariner was recommended to us by a Venetian - he eats there. What better recommendation can you have than from a local. It was just what we wanted a plate of cichetti to share and a good glass of wine. As we don't eat...More

We (2 grandparents and 4 teenaged grandchildren) arrived in Venice via train from Rome and checked into our apartment on Murano, then immediately returned and disembarked at the main station hoping to eat at one of our favorite restaurants in the Cannaregio, the Gam Gam....More

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district)
with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many
transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying
areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand
for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal
bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution,
2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli
Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby
