We found this restaurant casually, but it was a very good surprise! The staff is kind and the food is great. The place is cool and comfortable. It was still early and we couldn't try the second dishes, but the fishes look fresh and delicious!

I thoroughly enjoyed my time dining at Taverna da Baffo, we were seated outside as the weather was great and dined next to the canal. On arrival to the restaurant we were seated promptly and were attended to very quickly! The menu was very good and was filled to the brim with tasty home cooked Italian food. I had a... More

When you go to a restaurant and is full of locals... means thats a good place. We tried carbonara, it's the best carbonara we had in Italy by far! We cannot forget that taste! Also squid tint spaghetti. For antipasti we had octopus with potatoes and it was amazing too. When we thought things couldn't go better the tiramisu appeared... More

The fish and homemade pasta are delicious, as well as the pizza prosciutto e funghi. The prices are less than in the San Marco area, but you still got the same quality both in foods and service. Good range of dishes, which will satisfy most people. Well worth considering.

We have been here for dinner, we arrived late in afternoon in Venice and was not possible to reserve any restaurant, each one we tried was not available without reservation but this restaurant was very friendly with us and as we see with other clients. We choose fish food and was fresh and delicious, even the desert was super delicious!

My partner and I stumbled upon this restaurant tonight and upon taking a look at the menu, decided to go in. The service was attentive and friendly and the food was great; I particularly enjoyed the fish ravioli, which were absolutely stuffed with filling. The tiramisu was also particularly good. As the title says, the food was pretty expensive, and... More

We stumbled across this little restaurant by accident as we wandered the darkening narrow streets round where we were living It looked a good menu & reasonably priced and we were welcomed in Order was taken & served very quickly with some free pizza bread with oils to start We went straight for the mains - spaghetti bolognese and duck... We liked the look of the restaurant so we ventured in. It was the best meal we had in venice. I had the lasagne & my husband had the tortellini. For dessert I had the Panna cotta. Service was friendly & prompt, we weren't rushed. Atmosphere was lovely. Reasonably priced.

Stumbled upon this place one evening when going for a wander. The staff were very polite & attentive, good was fairly priced and delicious, and the ambience was really nice. Would recommend the duck ravioli and the black sea bass ravioli for prima. Lovely place

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
