Popped in here whilst wandering looking for an evening meal at 9pm. Very busy with lots of locals and we were welcomed by the host very quickly. He offered us a choice if tables for two, one in the restaurant and one in the attached extension into the garden within a couple of minutes. We chose the latter option but... More

My family and I have been going to this restaurant for many years, when in Venice. We keep going back because we can have good food at the right price (at least for Venice, which is an expensive city) in a pleasant environment and with good service. In a town plagued with tourist's traps, Nono Risorto is a very good... More

Best is to stay away from this place. If you go, be prepared to clearly ask what special charges they add on when you get the bill or you may pay much more than you thought. Do not pay with a card: we had a surcharge of 3% and a "currency change rate added" although everything happened in Euro.

After a hot morning walking round Venice, it was a real surprise and delight to find this lovely cool, leafy garden restaurant. Pizza, wine and coffee was 17.5 Euros, and it also came with the first tasty basket of bread I've had in Italy - little toasted, herby bites. The staff were very nice, and there was no rush for... What a find! We queued, but with a glass of wine, so that was ok! Had great food, with good friendly service, the staff work really hard, and seem to really care. Lovely setting with most tables in a courtyard with vines and lanterns overhead. Superb pizza, good steak, good salads and good house red wine. Very good value. Will... More

We were looking for somewhere to escape the mad crowds of Venice, and this garden hit the spot. Our waiter gave us great advice regarding the menu, and suggested we try the roasted sea bass. It was very good - an entire fish each, adorned with potatoes, olives, and other veggies in a very light sauce. The side dish of... More

We were looking for somewhere to eat that locals of Venice would eat. We settled on Al Nono Risorto. Service was excellent, menu in Italian and English. We had a fabulous lunch. Started with assortment of meats and cheese, divine. Mushroom pizza was my favorite. A light crispy crust topped with just the right amount of tomato sauce, mouthwatering mushrooms.... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
