Unfortunatley, the Al Storico turne out to be one a terrible dining experience... You have to walk quite a bit to reach that restaurant and when we eneterd we found a quite taste-free decor (lots of non matching wood, strange statues and acessoires, cheap tables...More

Having just arrived in Giudecca we went for a nice 3 hour stroll! We saw the sign for this restaurant and decided to follow it down an isolated pathway. When we got there the place was quiet but fairly quickly it was full and people...More

Staying on Giudecca we found this restaurant by following the numerous signs down a typically Venetian dark and mysterious path. Then climbed many steps to find an enormous echoey restaurant - thought after all that trouble it was worth a look. Whilst the food was...More

This restaurant is hidden away on the waterfront facing the lagoon on the island of Giudecca. We were staying nearby so were looking for somewhere local. It was tricky to find (see suggestions below) but well worth the effort. We did not have a reservation...More

This is a hidden gem - an its really quite well hidden, with an entry through an alleywell from the Giudecca waterfront. As an added benefit you pass a real working Venetian shipyard (more precisely a gongola-yard). The grilled fish was very nice, the waiter...More

We came here three times during our stay. The first time I almost felt that I didn't want to go back as the waiter was very offhand - he was more interested in talking to the locals on another table. However, the food was really...More

Giudecca
Giudecca is a retreat for Venetians away from the
crowds. Symbolically, six metal teeth represent
Venice’s six sestieri (districts); the seventh,
Guidecca, points away from the others – part of
Dorsoduro, but separated by the Giudecca Canal.
Giudecca evolved from a center of shipyards and
factories to a quiet residential area with a
sprinkling of restaurants and bars. The majestic
