Great food, must try while in Venice! Do note to make a reservation during weekend or some other days to ensure to get a table; we tried the scallop as appetizers, carbonara, and the Da Mamo pizza. They were so good and tasty!

Got a last minute recommendation to try this restaurant and SO happy we were able to get in -- a fantastic meal, wonderful and fun waiter, lovely experience all around. Our three kids and both of us all agree it was our favorite meal in Venice!! Definitely make a reservation -- there was a group gathered before opening (we were... More

The night before arriving in Venice I zoomed in on Google Maps to see if any restaurants posed up near the Hotel Rialto where we were staying. I saw Da Mamo, clicked on it and decided that was the place. We arrived at the hotel at about 6:30 pm on Friday and got to the restaurant at about 7:15 only... More

We liked the look of this place and the menu so popped in on Saturday evening looking for a table for two. The restaurant is quite small and was very busy so they suggested we go to the bar across the way for half an hour which we did. When we came back the staff apologised that there was still... More

We came in for lunch after reading the reviews and Da Mamo definitely lived up to them. My pizza was awesome! Great portion size and lots of topping choices. Then the wine list was fantastic. To see an Amarone for only 10€ is incredible. In the city I normally pay at least $20/glass. So happy about that! Wowza! Service was... More

Fabulous trattoria hidden not far from the Rialto bridge, well worth the effort to find it. We have spent a week in venice and this is the best place to eat yet. Amazing pizzas yesterday, back tonight to try what the lady at the next table had last night...ravioli....scrumptious! Definitely a must, but advise you arrive early or book a... More

It is a quite a small restaurant which gets very busy but service is cheerful and quick - we didn't feel under any pressure to eat up and leave. We (two adults and two teenagers) had bruschetta to start and then pizzas. All the food was tasty. We took it as a good sign that Italians were eating there too.... More

The pizza was delicious and so was the wine and Tiramisu ;) Service was great and fun. This restaurant has usually been fully booked. So it wise to make reservation, if you don't mind waiting for about 1hr for dinner. Would recommend!

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
