We found the restaurant on a TripAdvisor search few weeks prior to our trip to Venice. The reviews were excellent. We booked in advanced. The menu was perfect for me as I have gluten intolerance. We were offered a small starter to wet our appetite of mashed potato and leek with mint and small chocolate shavings which was amazing and... More

The breadbasket were very funny, there is no bread, just something like Cheerios, or long stick, looked and tasted like dog food. The portion was too small, I got 6 bits of noodle with a little bit chopped fish for $20, good I was not hungry that night. My hubby ordered a staffed fish, round as a donut size. with... More

Thank you so much for a wonderful meal! We booked at short notice and Giulio could not have been more accommodating. When we arrived we were looked after by Francisco who made fantastic recommendations, he was patient and friendly and really went out of his way to take care of us. The restaurant itself is beautiful, modern and yet still... More

Stopped here for a quick drink before taking the boat back to Murano. Nice place to stop and take a drink and may be a quick snack. Looks a nice place to eat dinner... but we didn't this trip.

Came here for a night cap not realizing it was six euros for one shot. Rather expensive. Won't be back.

I think we missed the boat here. We called in for a swift drink just as we were passing. Having read the reviews afterwards the food is supposed to be very good and had we known that I am sure we would have stayed. As it was the place did not seem very welcoming and the fact they served good... More

Very relaxed friendly restaurant.. We returned again for dinner on Christmas Eve and enjoyed lovely food and great service once again. Great place to go for lunch, dinner or a spritz and a snack.

Walking in for lunch on New Year’s Eve with a small child, might not have seemed the best planning but we were served as if there was all the time in the world and their one desire was for us to enjoy our meal. They made excellent suggestions as to menu choices and wine whilst the food was of the... More

Nice restaurant in Canarregio, with a nice atmosphere. A little too expensive price/quality. Good housewine.

Located in front of the North Lagoon of Venice the restaurant menu is declined in either meat and fish dishes. The culinary experience its very high, with researched tastes and a quite large canteen. Ambience is very nice and represent a valuable choice for romantic and business lunches and dinners. Owners is very present and always ready to support and... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
