La Bitta offers no-fuss Italian food in a small restaurant. The food is great, the service is friendly and the owner is fantastic! We have been here 4 times over the years and La Bitta never disapoints you. It is basic but brilliant, great value for money and far from the usual Venice tourist traps. The area is also very... We loved the sign on the wall next to this hard-to-find restaurant: La Bitta "NO FISH". And, there WAS no fish! But, oh, the food, the food. Radicchio with BECHAMEL sauce. Grilled, barbequed perfectly, with those tasty burned parts, begging to be eaten at once. But, not. Let's cover it in perfectly-made bechamel. A great verdura becomes moaningly delicious. And,... Highly recommended by our hotel, this is primarily a meat restaurant and is super. We came here twice. The first meal was magnificent when we had roast goose as a main course. The young waiter (Juventus supporter) and the waitress were super friendly and when I ordered a bottle of wine that wasn't to our taste she changed it without... More

Authentic and intimate setting with small tables and soft lighting. An inviting restaurant with knowledgeable and friendly staff. The menu changes from day to day and the food is well-prepared with fresh ingredients. I'm not much for desserts but La Bitta's panna cotta is to die for. The best I have eaten! If I have to complain about someting it... More

Everything we have expected from an italian restaurant! Great location, great service, great food quality and last but not least... a great wine list! I personally recommend the Agnello which was delicious and savoury! For the desert, the Tiramisu! To resume: thanks for this special moment!

the menu here is quite small, but we had no problem finding something to eat. We had the starter of carpaccio was nice and each had a different pasta for dinner. there were no wines by the glass on the menu, so what they do is bring you a bottle of their house wine and measure how much of the... Need to book this popular place in advance. Very lovely food, great little place with only a small number of tables. Really good basic fare, very well cooked, great ingredients - always worth a visit. It's our second time, and we'll be back!

A lovely intimate restaurant, excellent food, my wife who has Coeliac's (Gluten Free) was able to have almost everything on the menu. Booking is a must, they had two sessions when we went 7pm or 9pm.

In Venice with so much fish, one often craves meat. this place serves at two sittings: 7 and 9 pm and has no fish on the menu, only meat, and vegetarian dishes. the menu changes day to day and the staff is knowledgeable. I have eaten here a number of times and especially like their rabbit.

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
