We arrived at Al Timon tired and hungry around 10pm after a full day of walking and sight seeing. We were staying in the same neighborhood and had noted a large local crowd the night before which seemed like a strong endorsement. When we arrived...More

I'd recommend not to eat here. I saw the workers touching cash money then handling food with their bare hands. Other than that, I decided to sit down at one of their tables and order pasta (since I am a vegetarian), while we already had...More

Al Timon was recommended to us and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere, service and food really was perfect and we were so pleased that we went with the recommendation and tried the horse.

Small tapas + Aperol Spritz sitting on a boat by the canal = perfect. Small minus for the plastic cups.

Great steak and a great restaurant! Off the beaten track but worth it! Try and book as it gets busy! Very reasonably priced and makes a change from pizza / pasta!

We went there because TripAdvisor gave it a great for families rating. This is not true. Server sat us, yelled at us to choose the T-bone for three of us, we chose the filet, made me walk inside to look at the winelist, then abandoned...More

The T Bone was to die for, it was seasoned so well and all the accompanying vegetables were cooked perfectly. Coming from Canada I find it really difficult to get a good fair priced steak in the UK and this caught me by surprise it...More

Recently paid a return visit to this restaurant. Booked a table a couple of nights earlier but not sure if they actually had our booking as they didn't check the name and told us to pick from a couple of tables, we just got seated...More

My husband and I arrived for a pre-dinner drink and ended up staying for hours! The atmosphere is great both indoors and outdoors (on the canal and in the boats moored out front). The cichetti were absolutely delicious and reasonably priced, and the house rosè...More

Al Timón is one of the traditional bacaro(venetian word for bar ) in Venice . Here you can try different types of cicchetti (appetisers ) such as crostini with baccalà (codefish) , polpette fritte ( fried meatballs ) ..everything accompanied with wine . It is...More

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district)
with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many
transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying
areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand
for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal
bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution,
2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli
Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby

We arrived right when they opened the restaurant. For one hour, they only serve the bread and meats. As soon as we got there, they made us a reservation for dinner. We did not have any previous contact info for them!
