We were a large party looking for a break from the continual round of Venetian liver, sarde in saor, tagliate, etc then this is the place for you. Excellent range of pizzas and pasta dishes and a continually changing daily specials. Despite being so many people all the food came out at the same time.

We had excellent food here! It offered a atmosphere and a huge pizza which tasted delicious. I've given 5* because I would eat here again, but my advice to the owner (if they read this) is to please stop badgering people in when they look at the menu. It doesn't do your restaurant justice and it very almost put us... More

After a lot of searching and deciding where to eat we found this place. The pizza was brilliant and well worth stopping off for. It was the thinnest most amazing base and the toppings were perfect. The only down side was a small packet of bread sticks that were given to us while we waited for our meal. They could... More

The restaurant is just off of the main street. It is unassuming, but offers quality food. The prices are affordable and the food delicious. I would definitely recommend this food to a friend. The service was good. The overall atmosphere is small, friendly and good for an affordable dinner. You won't regret stopping in for dinner and a glass of... More

This place was amazing. The pizza was great and cooked to perfection!!They have decent portions of the toppings and the pizza is large for it's price! The customer service was divine! They were so friendly even though I did not speak Italian (other people were rude once they realized I didn't speak Italian!) The owner tried his best to converse... More

Walking around Venice, looking for somewhere to eat, can be a little daunting. Wandering around we saw this restaurant down a small side street and went to investigate. There was no one in it and the waiter rushed out to welcome us. Tentatively we went in and were ushered to a great table at the front of the restaurant and... More

Stumbled across this place about six o'clock tonight and it was empty. As we arrived so did two other tables and then it steadily filled up. We are travelling with one year old twins and were welcomed with no problem. House wine was a decent Soave. Grilled vegetables to start, followed by a nice lasagne. Others in my party had... More

We wondered upon this restaurant one night, and decided to stay for dinner. It turned out to be our best meal during our 3 days in Venice! We had seafood risotto, seafood soup, grilled chicken breast with vegetable, and Tiramisu for desert. Every dish is beautifully presented, and delicious!

We went to Antico Panificio for lunch with our kids. There was no cover other than a tiny pack of gressini each, yet we were charged 8 Euros (2 Euros each) for covert. The drinks we very overpriced, 4 Euros for a small tin of coke. The service was efficient but too pushy with the waiter over eager to sell... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
