My wife and I went here with high expectations. I would say the food met our expectations, but the service was very average. Pumpkin flan is as good as everyone says, a great combination of flavor and texture. We split a rabbit entree which was absolutely delicious. Our pasta dish and artichoke side were decent. House white wine was an... More

This was possibly the worst food my family has ever had. The sausage seemed raw and was lukewarm and inedible. We also got the vegan chocolate pudding and it tasted like pure plastic (I am vegetarian and often eat vegan food so that was not the problem). Also, it was not cheap considering the quality of the food we were... More

We had heard so much about this restaurant that we had to go. The menu is only in Italian, but the server was very willing to explain it to us and Google helped as well. The restaurant has two seating's and we were lucky to get a reservation through the concierge at our hotel. The food was excellent and cooked... More

Walked in 7 years ago and so throughly enjoyed our dinner we had to go again. You can't just walk in anymore; you'll need a reservation since it's become so popular, and it seems diminished from its popularity. Nonetheless, it is well worth it. Offers exceptional food with a gourmet touch to local cuisine.

What a fantastic meal. Friendly service (be prepared to decipher the Italian menu) and great food in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. All the great comments are accurate--go to La Zucca.

We dined at La Zucca before, enjoyed the food, and wanted to return during this visit. This December the food was outstanding! We ordered several vegetarian entries and a veal dish. The vegetarian plates stood out, including pumpkin flan, artichoke hearts, roasted small onions, peppers and eggplant. The main of veal was tasty but veggies were better! There is a... More

Food great, service average if not a little unengaged and disappointed the restaurant allowed a rose seller to freely approach each table and also to request for money

I'm giving this place 5 stars because goodness knows there are a lot of people desperate to find something vegetarian and I'm glad this place exists. The pumpkin flan was very good, as was a layered, roasted vegetable dish that was a bit like a lasagna. The baked leeks and ginger carrots were also very tasty. But the roasted pumpkin... More

It didn't get better than this resturant. It has that family Italian feel but it's also really stylish inside with local art and wonderful canal views. The resturant is traditional, yet innovative and you can taste the freshness of the produce on your plate. Great portions and delicious vegetable sides. The rabbit and the lamb mains are not to be... Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
