I was very sad when Kalmünz changed management a few years ago. It was by far my favourite restaurant in Merano. I must admit that therefore I had very low expectation and wow, was I wrong. The food was innovative and delicious. I love the local cuisine, but sometime it is nice to change. Portions are generous and well presented... More

The restaurant is well located in the center of the city. We enjoyed dinner in this restaurant and were amazed by the nice decoration of the restaurant. There was a nice courtyard also, but we dined inside. Food was good with big portions (a bit too much for a fine dining). Wine list was extensive. Service was good, but sometimes... More

The restaurant is located in an old building having inside a combination of old and modern elements forming a nice atmosphere. The wine list is very extensive and most of them are quite affordable. The food is good as is the service, really recommendable. With good weather dining outside is possible.

The " tortelloni al basilico con crema di burrata" was outstanding, the dessert "tortino al cioccolato fondente" was to die for. Will be back here next time to relive these two dishes! (with a nice bottle of sankt valentin chardonnay of course)

The reviews we read were not all of one mind about this restaurant, but we come down strongly on the plus side! We sat outside in a lovely courtyard, with awnings that unfurled when a summer shower briefly interrupted our meal. The chanterelle appetizer was terrific as was the octopus. The black tortellini starter was marvelous pasta with little bits... More

Excellent food served by very friendly and well trained staff is like almost a "must have been to" in Innsbruck. It is just that we thought that the place was a little too dark, that there was not enough light. Romantic though but food like this served in this high quality should be shown in the correct light which means... More

Please note, the japanese influence and fusion was removed from the menu together with the change of owners. We didn't know and had come precisely for this. I loved the ambiance (old wooden beams mixed with modern sleek design). The starters and main dishes were very well prepares and interesting, using regional ingredients and surprising elements. Desserts are conventional and... More

We wanted to go for dinner to this restaurant because of the excellent recommendations. As we stayed 2 days around Meran, we tried it on 20th of March the first time, but the restaurant was closed with a information that the people from the restaurant "are back on 21st for their guests". Full with hope to get a good dinner... More

Travelling with our 9 month old child, we were welcomed with open arms. The service was great and very friendly. The personnel in the kitchen were all smiles and waving to the little one as we passed by. The food was fantastic and the wine superb. The lunch special was a veal chop with saffron risotto. Both cooked perfectly. My... More

In the centre of Merano you'll find Restaurant Kallmunz, a great place to enjoy a wonderful diner. The menu offers the 'normal' range of antipasti, primi, secondi and dolci. Per item not a large list to satisfy their guests but an interesting range of specialties. We had a traditional insalata mista as a starter and ordered coda di rospo con... More
