We use to go Da Giovanni every time we visit Torino since almost five years, it was never disappointing actually we see how every time is better than last time. This time we had Tagliolini with Truffles, carpaccio di ricciola, insalata di Carciofi and we finished with fantastic Orange and Pears with wine! Everything was delicious, tasty and well cooked!... We arrived and sat down at the restaurant at 20.15 on our first night in Torino. Whilst deciding what to eat they got us the water and we had to ask twice for the wine list. After we ordered we noticed a freebie stuzzicino which we never got, but anyways. Between the time of ordering and the time we got... More

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel and I'm glad we tried it. They offer a number of local dishes and we really enjoyed their pasta. I had scampi with linguine which was perfectly cooked and presented. They had a selection of local desserts on a table to choose from. I really enjoyed the grappa with an expresso to finish... More

We checked into our hotel and asked the front desk where they would eat a late lunch, they suggested the family run Ristorante Giovanni which was 4 blocks from where we stayed. We walked there, saw that it was not very busy. The interior is quaint and full of antiques. We ordered 2 plates of ravioli, each was to have... More

Stayed in Turin for with my wife for a conference and this restaurant was recommended by another couple. Ended up having dinners there 5 nights and brought friends. My wife has to stay away from gluten which is not easy in a country hooked up on pizza and pasta. Fish, which we both love, was amazing, in particular I recommend... More

I had a very good dinner at Giovanni's with friends recently. The food was up to Italian standards, very good but not out of scale for my Italian taste. The idea of the artichoke based menu was very good. The vine list was quite impressive, with reasonable prices. I would certainly recommend this place for a business dinner, but also... More

The first dinner in on a cold Thursday night in Turin. Restaurant was recommended to us. Fantastic experience throughout. Ciro is such a passionate gentleman, I was so impressed by his dedication. My first course was paccheri alla norma - the portion was gigantic! And my second was manzo - even though it wasn't easy to finish it off, it... More

During a recent visit to Turin we dined at several of the 10 "best restaurants in Turin" according to a list published in the Guardian. Although they were all good to excellent, none came even close to Giovanni, our favorite dining spot in the city we visit several times each year. Located close the the station of Porta Nuova, Giovanni... More

This was one of several places recommended for lunch near our hotel. We were not disappointed. It was lovely and appeared to be geared to business travelers. The food was good and not overly expensive for a restaurant (differentiating between a Bistro, cafe, etc). We had several dishes including a warm frutti di mare and pumpkin ravioli. The meal was...
