What a lovely place to visit when you are alone, with your partner, family or friends. The locals are very friendly, they do hit speak much englisch but they always try to help.

Basic would be a complement. The spaghetti carbonara was dry(!) with half a dozen industrial bacon bits consisting of mainly fat. Tasted solely of pepper. Cheap and you dont get what you pay for.

Nice staff, always busy.. Great for meal or drinks.. Tasty food, just the run of the mill, not glamorous, but tasty. And good price.

Great place in the main square. Family friendly and reasonably priced food. Ideal for meal lunch of evening, or just for coffee, wine or a spritzer.

Review is only for snacks and drinks, we are a family of three and did not eat a full meal. Service was very good and drinks good. Best thing are the prices for a place on the main plaza. Only 5 Euros for a half liter of house wine. Daughter had a mini pizza that was good too.

Hard to find - I think it even goes under a different name - it's not where trip advisor says it is - head up the main steps to the church up the hill and its up in the left - reasonably priced and quiet as its away from the square - if you have a few dinners in Orta... More

Ate here one night on our recent holiday, as the restaurant we intended to go to was full. We had a pleasant surprise, food we ordered may have been simple but was very well done and came out fast. add to this the amazing views this restaurant enjoys and the very reasonable price and you really cant go far wrong... The Piccolo Bar is located on the square overlooking the lake. The service is ok but the food they serve is terrible. I ordered Spaghetti Carbonara which had no bacon , not much cheese was used and as a result it was dry and all you could taste was the black pepper the chef used. My wife's lasagna was horrible... Just in front of SG island the bar is well located but it is just a bar with average snack food: pizzas, pastas and ice creams. Food is average and service seems bored. Try another place first.
