One of Milan's prettiest and coziest places for lunch / aperitivo. Very formal and elegant vibe, excellent desserts and small bites. Great risotto & cotoletta alla milanese is excellent, one of the best i've ever had in my life!! Big portions too :) Espresso and sweet are on point! Takeaway gelato for the warm summer days is also another great... More

It's a tradition for me and my wife starting the morning shopping tour with a coffee ☕️ at this historic bar when we are in Milan. You know, the tradition is sacred.

Everyone knows Sant'Ambroeus in Milan as it is a traditional place for coffee or lunch downtown. Quality of food and pastries is good; however, they should work to improve caring of customers, staff being from time to time really impolite! (I am a regular visitor of the place)

Stumbled on this restaurant first day of the weekend in Milan. Busy confectionary side and restaurant. Considering it is in a quite touristy area the food and service was acceptable. A general comment is the copperto charge which most restaurants seem to charge, not sure this works as it makes me not want to leave a tip.....

One of the top places to visit in Milan for sure. Ambiance is amazing and one of the places where you can get a selection of delicious cakes, so tasty... Service is great and I can not wait to come again.

This is the original Sant'Ambroeus where well kept ladies once frequented to meet young virile Italian men. The store/cafe is beautiful with truly with deserts and cakes that are works of art. The food is quite good. A wonderful place to go after a day of shopping for something small to nibble on as you look around at all the... More

A very chic place in a very classy area to have desert, coffee, or food. The spaghetti with pomodorro and basilico is really delicious. The place is calm and nice.

Staying in Centro Storico

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro Storico
The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.
