We were ready for a change from Italian food, and looking for an option that suited the carnivores and the herbivore in the family. This was a great meal - we were quickly and easily talked into the set menu option by the friendly and welcoming owner. The meal was fantastic - it began with hummus, babaganoush, preserved lemon, tabouleh,... More

since i'm egyptian, i used to these types of plates, over all it was nice experience. I meet the very nice lady typical egyptian mom who also is the chef and she told if i like to order anything they didn't service back then i can tell her anytime to prepare especially for the order <3

We were offered a good selection of appetizers that we enjoyed. We ordered falafel, riso sceicco, vegetable couscous. The rice with pistachios and other nuts was definitely the best dish of the night. It also came with a taste of potatoes filled with cheese and fried, which were also delicious. The waiter/owner is a little insistent, it's hard to refuse... More

We absolutely loved the couscous and the maze platter. What I didn't like was the service. The owner is quite chatty, but he will sell you what he actually wants you to have and won't really help you go for something else rather than the set menu (this is why I rated it with 4 and not 5 stars). I... More

I used to live above the Mido for one year, but never been there during that period. And it's a big regret now that i'm living 150 km away! Mido has a great egyptian kitchen: very good starters will welcome on your arrival then you can combine various traditional dishes by yourself or choose from the various combined menu. very... More

well, the interior is okay, the service is well too. but we're like being push to choose the menu from the owner's side and it's feel terrible. i'm asian and don't really like the strong taste of middle eastern food. i went there because it's so hard to find halal food which is not indian style and i'm sick of... the guy barely speaks Italian but manager to make you feel comfortable and not puzzle by a complicate Arabian list. Food is heavy to digest but not the chef's fault: that is Middle-East food. In exchange you get very good service from a family-owned place that likes its job: mum's in the kitchen, dad serves and sonny is at the... More

Staying in Navigli

Neighbourhood Profile
Navigli
The Navigli is part of historic Milan. In the ancient days, the entire city was linked with canals, similar to Venice. Today, most of the canals are gone, but the Navigli remains a canal-based neighborhood. There are two major canals: Naviglio Pavese and Naviglio Grande. The Naviglio Grande's bridges greet visitors at dusk with an amazing view. The Navigli district specializes in clubs, cafes, and vintage shops. Lifestyle reigns supreme here. You can start the walk from the Colonne di San Lorenzo, an antique colonnade in front of the Basilica di San Lorenzo. During the daytime, this place acts as a meeting point for artists and students reading books or chatting with friends; the nights turn it into a stepping-stone for club hoppers. Science lovers will also relish the opportunity to visit the Science and Technology National Museum Leonardo Da Vinci, showcasing inventions of the Italian genius.
