Had a really brilliant meal here. It's about 5 minutes outside of the Bergamo city centre, though really worth it. Really cozy and nice ambience inside, with local specialties. I had the salad appetiser with "Pecora Gigante Bergamasca" (lamb meat) and "Casonsei" which is the local pasta. Really enjoyed this!

Our entourage of 10 people booked a table from Osteria Al Gigianca for last week. When we arrived, we had our table ready and our menu was pre-ordered (to help the kitchen I guess). Service was excellent, price-quality ration of the food was superbe and we really enjoyed the evening at the restaurant. Portions were incredibly big, so we would... More

I had dinner with my wife on a monday at this restaurant. We had coniglio (rabbit) alla bergamasca con polenta, some wine and profiteroles for dessert. Food was great. The ambience is informal and relaxed, the service is friendly and the cost is fair. I would return in a next visit to Bergamo.

Had a dinner with a group of ten. Meny booked beforehand and it was tastefull. Especially mushroom risotto was one of the best ever. Menu was so rich, that main course (rabbit with spinach and celery pyre) was very tastefull but already a bit too much and could not eat dessert at all. We were well taken care by the... More

We walked from our hotel to this pearl a hot evening, got inside almost went the door was open. A nice interior , light wood could have a nordic resto, but happily not. A trained staff, good winelist and perfect food. We had this delicious Rosso Valtellina pure Nebbiolo and very tasty, nice bread and then the food arrived, Carne... More

Little bit far away from the center, around 20 min by walk, nice Italian osteria. You will be probably unique foreigners here, but in Italy it's a good sign. Food is delicious, portions in right sizes and prices reasonable.

For two we ordered just one appetizer (baccalao on fried polenta), ravioli and rabbit with polenta - we didn't want to eat much, which was unfortunate as food is fantastic, and I wish we tried more dishes. Service is very friendly, and proprietor answered all our questions, and we enjoyed the experience. Highly recommended!

We spent a good evening at the Gigianca. The owners were very nice and spent a considerable time explaining their creations and food philosophy. Some if the dishes were really nice, but the beef for the tagliata was hard, so thats one star less. They made special dishes for the kids, which was really nice! All in all worth a... More

Description
Gigi e Alessia welcome you to this restaurant very typical, informal but nice and elegant. Very local cuisine with a careful and passionate quest for raw materials. Particularly noteworthy are the selection of meats (Rabbit, Sheep, Beef, Pork and Cure Meats) and cheeses. The fish (Salmerino, Lavarello Persico, Agone) is provided by Ceko, fisherman of Lake Como. Among the specialty fresh pasta and homemade ravioli. Large and sophisticated wine list. The restaurant is mentioned on the Slow Food guide "Osterie d'Italia"
