This restaurant is one of the best in the region. We turned up without booking and were accommodated within 15 minutes. The gentleman who took care of us(sorry never got your name. Had a beard and glasses) was very very friendly and was obviously trained to the highest standards in customer service, such an easy person to be around, felt... More

Had a beautiful lunch, with a fabulous burrata, nice polenta ragu and fantastic ravioli. The owner recommended great wines to accompany the lunch. Had a great time and gladly recommend

I went for a walk with a friend on a weekend to Bergamo alta and did not reserve any table in any restaurant. We were not sure where to go. Then we noticed this restaurant down a street, away from the main street. Went in and booked a table for an hour and a half later... we waited quite long... More

Wr decided to try Lalimentari on our last night in Bergamo alta. Excellent traditional Bergamese food and wine selection. We had some traditional and non traditional dishes, but the 3 cheese polenta is very good and is available in a number of dishes, we had one with porcini mushrooms and one with rabbit. Excellent selection of very affordable local wines.... More

This restaurant is quirky and nicely decorated. The staff are friendly and there is clearly a passion for good food and wine. Overall a nice meal.

We ate here last Tuesday evening, our last night in Bergamo and I have got to say the whole experience was very good. From walking in being welcomed, the food again was very good and the wine ! You are just surrounded on all sides by wine! I had the Parma ham starter with the polenta/with cheese and beef ragu,... More

We were lucky to book a table a few hours earlier on a Saturday evening. We were recommended this restaurant in the b&b we stayed in. The place is really small and the tables don't have much space between them but it's a charming little place, covered in bottles of wine (there's an excellent selection). The menu is not among... Excellent decor-surrounded by wine bottles. Well cooked local cuisine which was novel to me : pizzoccheri and the local buck wheat polenta. The wine selection was excellent, but I chose the by the glass option and I do not feel that I was compromised. The tiramisu was as it should be. Do not go here if you are a picky... More

Whilst the venue itself is quirkily interesting, and we were fitted in last minute, we were overall disappointed. Starters were predominantly cheese and cold meats, and most mains centre around the local speciality of polenta, which is definitely an acquired taste! Overall, the menu lacked variety. The main man pushily tried to upsell us at every opportunity which became irritating.

Lalimentari is a fine, small, cheerful wine bar/restaurant a few steps off the main street. It serves local specialties like the buckwheat pasta pizzocheri and the ravioli called casoncelli, as well as a large selection of polenta dishes, served with cheese or other accompaniments. There's an excellent wine selection and friendly service. The owner speaks English. At lunch in September,... More
