Lovely breakfast, we came back every morning for the orange juice! The pastries melt- as in explode into flavor bursts in your mouth. We had nothing but tasty food there- and we are quite picky. Go, enjoy, you won't regret it!!

Il Pirata delle Cinque Terre is located in the upper part of Vernazza, where the dynamic sicilian duo Massimo and Gianluca (twins, aka the brothers Cannoli) offer a fun and friendly service along with a wide assortment of authentic Sicilian pastry. Their cafe is known for its breakfast, its pasta and its daily offerings of lunch and dinner. Along with... More

This restaurant has the best eggplant parmesan I've had in my 3 weeks in Italy - so delicious! My husband got the lasagna and it was tasty too. Their house red wine was also fantastic. Note: the laundromat is right next door to the restaurant so this could be a perfect place for you to do your laundry and eat... More

We forgot to pay our lunch bill because we were so enthralled with the marzipan at the counter. or maybe because we had some interesting encounters with other tourists and then had a bus to catch. We left our table without paying!!! We came back for dinner the same day and one of the brothers graciously (without accusing or embarrassing... More

We visited Vernazza in October. We had breakfast (coffee and a pastry) here most mornings. I love good pastries and these were fantastic. Definitely worth a visit if you like something sweet in the morning. They also make a good cappuccino. We found the owner and staff to be very welcoming.

In June my family and I traveled all over Italy. We ate at Il Pirata multiple times during our two day stay (first for a cold mocha while doing laundry, second for dinner, and then a quick breakfast on our way out). It was just very comfortable, very good and reasonably priced. The brothers who own the establishment also were... More

I stumbled upon this cafe. I was hiking up above the village on a hot August day. I stopped when I ran out of energy and had enough of the heat and humidity. As I walked back down and got to the road, I saw this small cafe. I entered, asked for "birra italiano" and took my beer out to... More

We went here with friends for a quick morning coffee. When we arrived, there wasn't a menu and prices weren't listed. We ordered a caffe latte each and the owner asked if we wanted a small or a large. We opted for a large and when we got the bill, the total was €10 for the two coffees!!! This is... More

So glad we found this place the first morning of our visit to Vernazza! Wonderful DELICIOUS fresh pastries - great coffee - tables outside. Friendly staff. Don't try to order eggs for breakfast here. When you are in Italy - eat like an Italian!

The staff here have a passion for their food and it's easy to see why. It's so delicious that we ate here 3 times in 24 hours. It was easily the best food we ate in Cinqueterre and the staff are lovely. Everything we ordered was memorable but our highlights were the ricotta-filled croissants and hot chocolate at breakfast time.... More
