This is the perfect place for a traditional Parma feast. Start with the tortellini (they had pumpkin, ricotta, and chestnut). Then have a selection of either roasted or boiled meats of many kinds. This comes with sides of potatoes or vegetables. The desserts were fabulous. And the local wines were wonderful.

What a special dinner we had here! Great pasta dishes and the traditional cart of boiled or roasted meats. No English spoken so you know it's authentic.

You need to find this place in the old town historical district of Riva. A good place to enjoy a huge variety of alpine Italian cuisine. It tastes like home cooked food while showing a selection that holds up to any fine restaurant in Italy. The "mamma" greats and seats every guest personally.

Some Italian colleagues had booked for dinner, so I hadn't realized that it was heavily dedicated to cured, boiled and roasted meat. The ravioli trio was very nice, but the rest was a bit overwhelming for me. Fun service and fun old fashioned restaurant. Wouldn't exactly go back though.

Great antipasto cart. Traditional cuisine. Traditional decor. Nothing remarkable in main dishes. Good service.

Hotel and restaurant in it have already seen better times, and most of the clientele was also regular guests, but - judging by their happy faces - are not yet tired of the everyday ceremony with carts full of (over)cooked meat and second class, but at least home-made desserts. Pros: Fresh baked bread was of highest quality and of excellent... More

We should have realised something was wrong when we were the only people in the restaurant! Surly (in fact downright rude) service, followed by un imaginative food. My partner (who is italian) asked some tomatoes to go with the otherwise plain and bitter tasting radicchio and was told they didn't have any - in an Italian restaurant!

My partner and I stayed at the Hotel Leon d'Oro in Parma when we traveled there several years ago. I was doing research at the local archive, and we were both students, so we were looking for a relatively affordable place with some amenities. Leon d'Oro fit the bill perfectly. Our room was functional - not overly fancy but very... More

Don't expect innovative cuisine here, the place serves all the old fashioned food from the area; if you like it: great, if you prefer lighter, more creative food, choose another restaurant, plenty options in Parma. I like to eat here every now and then to try to experience how it must have been in many restaurants in Italy some 40... More
