I was there last year for lunch and I was totally disappointed! The service was terrible, the owner was rough and inhospitable!! I love Italian food and people and for me was a big surprise to be part of so aggressively minded people. I would not recommend this place to visit !!!!

Have been twice and will go each time I'm in Modena. Ada is a gem and she knows what she is doing. And in case you are put off by her eccentric ways, the food will more than make up for it. Just let her bring dishes and eat! You won't be disappointed.

This is a truly special place! Ada the owner cooks and serves one dinner every night. There is no menu, it feels like going to nonna for dinner. Everything is very tasty and you can choose roughly starters, pasta and wether you would like meat or not, but Ada's suggestions are very strong!! 😉 It was quiet when we went... More

Go to "La Frasca" is eat well but you have to follow what the owner/chef/waitress say to you. You will enjoy every minute, just one thing. It could be a lil expensive but totally worth it

Food is amazing, very fresh, typical and good Italian food, but what makes this restaurant special is the owner/chef. She is totally crazy and does a funny show during the entire evening with stories, joking....for sure it´s very good option to visit in Modena.

The most entertaining and lively landlady I have ever met so far will introduce you to this lovely Hostaria where between very funny jokes you will be able to taste some delicious local meals. I tasted an excellent pork shank with veggies and a asparagus lasagna that I will remember for a long time. A place to visit ideally with... More

Great: primi piatti (gorgonzola, mozarella, and very good typically italian dry aged meat), atmosphere, the eccentric chef Not so great: overcooked dried-out duck and pork for secondi. Expect lots of food! (We ate with 6 persons, the bill was 33e/pp for primi, secondi, 1 glass of lambrusco and 1 glass of wine, no dessert)

We thought having find a great restaurant in Modène, whereas lots were closed for annual holidays, the food was good and the owner seems to be very nice. But something were strange : no menus, no prices. It's just at the bill moment that we understood that we've been abused. 68e for 2 primi piatti, 1 segundo piatti, 2 desserts... More

This is my "must do" stop every time I pop into Modena. The owner is quite peculiar and might put you off if you are a shy person. But if you can take her crazy attitude you will definitely experience one of the BEST italian meals, just like grandma does it for you at home. (Trust me, I am italian!)

When you go here, don't expect your usual dinner. Most of all, don't be too uptight and strict, because here you'll find the real, fun, rude Italian madness! A bit pricey, but the food is great, and Ada is the best!
