This had to be my favorite restaurant we went to on our trip to Rome. We started with the burrata and prosciutto which was delicious. Next on to a pasta course, I ordered the strozapretti tartufuti (basically a homemade pasta with truffle and mushroom). It was to die for. My guest tried the cacio e pepe which was so good... More

On a recommendation from a local guide we tried Renato e Luisa last fall and again with another couple on another recommendation from a friend who lives and works in Rome. This is a place where locals go. We enjoyed the truffled egg and bacon daily special, the fish carpaccio, and fried artichoke to start. Just take the house specials.... More

Small, but not noisy, with friendly service. Tasty food, good size portions, out of the ordinary in a good way. We began with spaghetti and some sort of ground meat in a reddish, but light, sauce, along with a shrimp pancetta - yum! Then, gnocchi with truffles and the lamb chops with potatoes - yum again! Red wine from Lazio... More

Other reviews speak of this restaurant as being innovative, imaginative and exciting. They are right. It was the best and most delicious food we enjoyed in our visit to Rome. It is not easy to find, and there is a limited amount of English spoken. Because the menu is only written in Italian and because there seemed to be more... More

Renato e Luisa was our best dinner in Rome. Recommended by Elizabeth Minchilli's AP, Renato e Luisa is on a small side street in Campo de Fiori (one of our favorite neighborhoods). The restaurant has two rooms - a large central one (request that if you can) and a smaller secondary one. We were seated in the smaller room, which... More

My wife and I stumbled across this little restaurant on our honeymoon. Amazing little place just around the corner from our hotel. I had gnocchi with truffles and clams and it was heavenly. Inexpensive for such a wonderful meal.

Friendly service, truly authentic ambience and a favorite of locals. We thoroughly enjoyed a truly memorable culinary experience while dining at Renato e Luisa. The establishment is small but cosy offering wonderful local wines and pasta to die for! Particularly, the Ravioli and Anchovy platter were highlights. As first time travelers to both Rome and Italy, Renato e Luisa has... More

Very Authentic cosy Place. Book a table! The waiters do not speak very good English. We got other plates than expected :-) But the Food was really good! Also vino di casa (housewine) good and cheap. Would absolutely visit this Place again!

This was recommended by our hotel manager. It is truly authentic and frequented mostly by the local population. The food was delicious and the wine super. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the latter and helped us choose an appropriate one for the food we ordered which happened to be pasta. Although a cheese plate was not on the menu... More
