This is a very small, informal place on Via Leonina, right next to the Duca d'Alba Hotel. Weather permitting, the small dining room spills out onto the sidewalk. Service is very friendly, and everyone is welcome. They have specials every day alongside their regular menu. The staff is happy to offer recommendations, so listen. They're also very patient--the waiter was... More

We have just got back from Rome and stumbled across this lovely little place , but make no mistake , what it lacks a really central location, it more than makes up for in genuine Italian food and local culture at a very competitive price ! We had previously visited one of the best ten restaurants named in Rome ,... More

First of all the food and wine were very nice. I'm sure some of our experience is due to cultural differences, but not all. We made a reservation that claimed 20% off - Didn't happen, no worries. When I tried to pay with a credit card they informed me of the little sign in the door that said the machine... More

You can feel real Italy in here: you will be met and served by the owners of the restaurant (man and wife). The interior and food is unpretentious, simple and cozy - as I like it in Italy: very tasty, very cozy and you feel so comfortable like eating at home, not strained like sometimes you can feel in the... We were here and tried two types of spagetti. It was nice, the meals were delicious and the place is cosy. No pizza.

Found this small, but charming restaurant through a travel book. What a wonderful lunch, outstanding service and food, and to top it off to be serenaded by an accordion player (yes, we did tip him). The wine was so good and inexpensive that we asked if we could purchase two bottles to take back to our hotel. They call it... More

With so many places to choose from to eat great meals in Rome, this place stood out because it felt like a real home cooked meal and it was the owner that made our dinner such a special experience. As a family of 7, we had been walking around the Monti neighborhood and didn't realize we should have made recommendations... More

OK, so my enthusiasm for this place may need a little context. A chance find, after a morning spent getting progressively wetter whilst trudging around Roman antiquities, it had a lot in its favour as soon as we were in out of the rain and sitting down. It is simple, small, unpretentious room, with decoration that is homely rather than... More

Andrea is the owner of a small restaurant, a restaurant in the historic center of Rome, Rione Monti, the oldest neighborhood where there are monuments of Roman, Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, a succession of styles that covers 2500 years of history. Frequented by both tourists and Romans from seeking certain atmosphere and authenticity, Monti is experiencing a new period of cultural ferment and trade that led to the opening of new workshops, small eateries and street food, studies and workshops artists in search of visibility.
Andrea pampers guests with its traditional Mediterranean cuisine with some delights of the Tuscan tradition and ligure.Il its environment is informal and friendly. The kitchen is typical and regional level, with pasta, bread and homemade cakes with the flavor of the dishes from our childhood. Lunigiana has a place of honor in this kitchen where you can sample some typical products of lunigianense: testaroli pesto, lard IGP, porcini mushrooms, pie erbi, panigacci.La feeling is to go into a dining room family, his customers feel at home. The walls of his restaurant welcome paintings by emerging artists and exhibitions rotate periodically always creating new atmospheres. The dining room staff is young, friendly and professional, able to accompany the customer in the right choice of the dish and the wine.
The Cicada and the Ant enjoys a strategic position in the district, is open for lunch and dinner and has an outdoor area where you can have a meal or a drink and one inside with 40 seats arranged in two rows with a central corridor leading to the kitchen.
