This restaurant is not only gorgeous but serves great food. It is an iconic restaurant Take a tour of the Catacombs where Saint Peter and Paul were originally buried together. See the footprints of Christ! Then order up a Lazio white and have a perfect lunch! Dougthelebaneseguy

After arriving at the nearby catacomb to realise there was no on site refreshments, we decided to have a walk in the vast ground which the catacombs are located within, and after a few minutes of walking we stumbled across L'archeologia. From the outside of the building it's very deceiving as it just looks like a typical restaurant but as... More

I understand that this is a great dinner place but I stopped in for lunch with family. Really glad I did! Great food and I ate too much! We had the Sea Bass oven baked in salt and it was the best ever.

Restaurant is in a fairly isolated area. After having had lunch at L'Archeologia, we asked the manager to please call a cab for the return trip to Rome. He tossed us a card for the restaurant and told us that they were closing, leaving us stranded in the street.

Booked on line because of trip advisor reviews. All were good apart from one who mentioned they were looking for wealthy locals who wanted a meal not drinks. It's a restaurant not a bar! Food good quality at good value for money. It's not cheap, it's not expensive, it's good value. The service was attentive but not over the top.... More

This is a beautiful traditional restaurant along the Via Appia Antica with a lovely interior and garden. I've seen it many times on prior visits to Rome and finally got a chance to dine here on a Sunday afternoon. There were some tourists, but mostly Italian families enjoying Sunday lunch. It is not cheap, but the food, atmosphere and service... More

We were having lunch, 4 friends with everyone of us choosing a different starter: salad, camelato(?) pasta con vongole, antepasti misti, pasta with tomato sauce. As main course we had rombo catch of the day, spaghetti vongole and salmon. It was fantastic. We had a regional lazio white wine (luna mater) at 28EUR, which was great too. We had zabaglione... Over priced pretentious snobs. They want the rich villa owners not the hot sweaty tourists. We ordered drinks but got thrown out for not ordering a full meal. Cost us 20 euros for 4 soft drinks! Avoid this place like the plague. Go to the café at San Sebastian just down the road for good cheap food with friendly service.
