This a lovely restaurant that is frequented by local people. We had Risotto and Spaghetti. They were both well cooked and excellent. The owner was very charming and attentive. The house wine was good and the whole bill was reasonable. Definitely recommended.

I have eaten here on and off for 30 years, but I won't be returning. The service was slow: people who arrived after us were drinking coffee before we got our first course and the food was poor. My poorly drained spaghetti was swimming in water. There were queues outside when we left: I don't know why.

We came here based on a recommendation of a local. The place was packed with locals when we got there and, despite having a reservation, we were given the worst seat in the house right next to the front door, which opened and closed every 2 seconds letting in cold air... The server was incredibly rude, bringing us only one... More

A genuine roman trattoria that has kept the authentic taste and ambiance of the days when Testaccio was a working class neighborhood full of abattoirs and stables. Back then when people returned home they found ways to cook the left overs of the slaughtered animals in a creative, delicious and nutritious way so as to overcome the hard day's plight.... More

..but I will never come back there. Too expensive then the quality of food. In addition 8 eur for a portion of cake is crazy (in my opinion).

Recommended to us by a friend living here. Off the beaten track and main sites but as a result it retains it's genuine italian food and atmosphere.

I highly recommend, especially if you're looking for a getaway from the tourist crowds and overrated restaurants near the main attractions in the city center.

Traditional family restaurant with great food! Local people suggested that we went there and they were absolutely right. The food was home made and delicious and the atmosphere very warm. Unlikely to find find tourists at this part of the city. Highly recommend it.

I can not eat the pasta all' amatriciana and when my husband told me about this place i was skeptical. I ordered other food and ended up eating that pasta. Try it. It was delicious.

A good friend who lived 20 years in Rome recommended this restaurant to me. It was delicious! I had a starter of mussels in a white wine sauce with a hint of spice, then the lamb which was mouth-watering. So tender and no fat at all. Hugh portions. The place is a typical trattoria with great atmosphere. The service was... More

Staying in Testaccio

Neighbourhood Profile
Testaccio
Put the house music on replay and you have Testaccio, an ancient Roman port and former working class neighbourhood where the bass is set to high almost every night of the week. Its collection of discoteche (nightclubs), street parties, and crowded restaurants give it its well-deserved party reputation. During the daytime, Testaccio is more easy listening than club hit, the area is full of locally owned small businesses and has one of the city's larger produce markets.
