We came across Il Guru just by chance out looking for food and could not believe our luck when we spoke to the staff. They were accommodating about where you wanted to sit, advised on menu choices and very reasonably priced. Food was freshly cooked...More

Matthew and his staff are the best. Dishes are fresh and carefully thought out, smaller choice than normal in an Indian restaurant meaning attention to detail and having a long chat over a drink (talking about our passions...food mainly!) it is obvious everyone there cares...More

This is the place for great Indian food in Rome. Courses are prepared on the spot and the food is always fresh. The cheese naan and the lamb are amazing!!! Service is excellent as can be expected from a family-owned restaurant. I happen to know...More

We had dinner here when we were visiting Rome. The food was delicious and prices reasonable. We had a bottle of Red wine recommended by the server and it was really good. The restaurant is close to the Colosseum.

The food at Guru is pretty good - Definitely worth visiting again. I enjoyed the preparations, 'like home' taste, and yes - the food is not greasy/oily - which I prefer. Also, I liked the friendly courteous service.

Very friendly staff who spoke excellent English; gracious albeit a teensy bit slow service but the food was worth the wait. Very fair prices in this tourist-trap city, and no service charge which was such a welcome relief after being ripped off by another restaurant...More

Really was too bad food. All staff were not cooperative. They forget to serve what we ordered but they added that items in the bill. We ordered dal makkhni and paner and naan and all of them were below average.

Be prepared for the rice portion and the size of the naan to be smaller than you're used to and you're fine. The food was good. The decor inside the restaurant and bathroom was quite explicit with Shiva and a woman doing the naughty in...More

Everything we ordered, from an appetizer to our main dish was delicious. We found the portions to be appropriate and everything very flavorful. We were worried at first since we arrived close to their closing time, but yet their service was very welcoming and friendly,...More
