We visited maccheroni restaurant tonight because my parents had a good experience there a couple of years ago. After a mediocre meal we left the restaurant and returned to our hotel. On arrival at our hotel my mother found that her purse had gone missing. The only place we had been was maccheroni restaurant so we called them immediately to... More

A friend told me that here I can find one of the best carbonara in Roma. I ordered one appetizer (pecorino with honey), carbonara, a glass of wine and a dessert. Payed 30 euros, not cheap, but it is in line with the average price of a restaurant in central Roma, thus no surprise and no disappointment. The wine was... More

A nice restaurant for good italian food. When you wish a simple italian meal then visit this restaurant. Menu card is relative simple with sufficient choice. Avoid traffic hours, usually full in that period despite the large number of tables. Worth visiting

During our first visit some years ago we were overwhelmed but since then some imperfections were experienced. The service varies from slightly rude to friendly. Preferences for a table near the kitchen are denied in southern style. Despite this we had an enjoyable evening. A spontaneous contact evolved with people at the adjacent table. We are not sure whether we... More

Ordered fettuccine with black truffles (18 euros a plate) - pasta came out so overcooked that its consistency was resembling a fruit jelly. We have asked our waiter whether it is possible to replace the dish because the pasta is way overcooked and too soft - he apologized and replied that it is impossible but he can bring a different... A group of friends we visited the restaurant in March 2017 and sat outside. Old type trattoria, nice environment inside and outside in a piazzeta. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Food was very very good, pasta, salad and baked artichokes. They were serving late, after ten that is, which was convenient for us that day. I recommend it... More

A friend of us recommended this place and we have been told to order the Carbonara. We order first a bit of Antipasti and after the Spaguetti Carbonara that was absolutely delicious. Apparently this is how a real Carbonara should taste and to be sincere was absolutely delicious!! The place is really beautiful; you can choose to sit outside or... More

My sister and I are staying locally so decided to make Maccheroni our "go to" restaurant. The first two visits were excellent. I am coeliac - as is the woman who served us. I had delicious gluten free pasta, excellent wine and a very warm welcome both times. Today, we went back for a third time and it was a... More

My wife and I had dinner here on our second night. We were looking for something more than the typical tourist spot near the big sites. This place is a bit of a find to get together but once there it is big with lots of seating options both indoor and outdoor. Despite having a reservation we were seated in... More
