This place was recommended to us by a friend who lives in Rome. It was one one of the best places we've been, especially because of the service. Our waiter was very Roman; he gave us a hard time, but in a playful, Roman way. The food was also delicious.

For the last 12 years my family and I had the tradition to go eat at Perilli every time we visited Rome. We have always found it to be a welcoming and a great place to eat roman food. A week ago we went to Perilli for lunch, and were extremely disappointed. Not only have the prices gone up monstrously... More

Do you want to taste traditional Roman food? Go to this trattoria. Frequented mostly by Italians, a good sign in a touristic town as Rome. Staff is also Italian. They offer a lot of typical dishes and staff is very good in advising you what to try. We were a party of for and tried several dishes, in the end... More

This is a great restaurant - very family oriented. It was loud and colourful and the food was amazing. Highly recommend.

Seems to be in a movie with Alberto Sordi when you are at Peril's restaurant. If you would like to have some serious, roman, classic lunch or dinner here is perfect place and you will also have the impression of a classic italian movie. To be tried!

Ok carbonara, insipid matriciana. The place was full of locals, and the atmosphere nice, but the food was mediocre at best.

I had the pleasure to eat in this old restaurant (106 years with Perilli family). The prices are pretty high, but they are justified with the great quality and tasty food. I enjoyed the artichoke, the zucchini with meat and indivia with raisin. Please open the bottle of water in front of the costumer because I didn't like this part... More

I really wanted to like this place. It was recommended to me by an Italian friend, and after reading all the great reviews we had high hopes. I dined here with my boyfriend who is Swedish and doesn't speak the best English, so I did most of the speaking (made the reservation, asked questions about the food). After being seated... More

Where tradition is King! A family business, generous portions, real Roman taste ( NB. Possibly too rich for some) and happiness in the air.... same faces every Sunday!!! If one has to wait a bit.... it means that the food will be even better. Wines at exceptional prices.... not like in U.K. where you pay 4 times more than in... More

Having dinner here was so much fun, old school service, top quality food, best carbonara EVER, a trip down memory lane for all good things in life.

Staying in Testaccio

Neighbourhood Profile
Put the house music on replay and you have Testaccio, an ancient Roman port and former working class neighbourhood where the bass is set to high almost every night of the week. Its collection of discoteche (nightclubs), street parties, and crowded restaurants give it its well-deserved party reputation. During the daytime, Testaccio is more easy listening than club hit, the area is full of locally owned small businesses and has one of the city's larger produce markets.
