InRoma Restaurant is located on a busy place - on the way from the Colosseum to the Tiber Island (Isola Tiberina) and the popular Trastevere district. In the daytime, it is besieged by tourists who come to drink coffee and have a bite to continue exploring the Roman sights with renewed strength. In the evening, the influx of visitors falls,... This historic restaurant is still open after almost 80 years for a reason- the food and service are outstanding! We had stayed by the Forum 6 years ago and ate three every night. We were delighted to find it is even better than we remembered.

They gave us the worst pasta we ever seen, it was reheated, probably from lunch (we were there for dinner). We could not eat it, we told them and they gave us a stupid excuse. However, they tried to put that pasta in the bill, which we didn't accept. The rest of the dishes were very poor and overpriced.

To be honest, I cannot tell you why we were treated differently than the rest of the customers at the restaurant maybe it was because the wait staff just is not friendly to tourist or because we weren't white but there was definitely a difference in service. We were charged for still water that was tap water and had a... More

The menu is limited to a small number of pasta dishes. We tried three and all were disappointing in both flavour and the temperature at which they were served. The portions were, in this case, thankfully small but at 15 euro were not cheap. The desserts were equally disappointing. Mille feuille was a few pieces of puff pastry and some... More

Tucked away but worth a walk from the Ancient Rome area. Nice food and good service. Was quiet and pleasant.

We stayed at the Palazzo al Velabro hotel which is just around the corner from this restaurant and so we ate here twice. This place is terrific and has great pasta. Everything we had was top-notch. But...you have to try the Caprese with real Buffalo Mozzarella as an app. The texture of the cheese is unbelievable and something that is... More

Was told to go here as the movie stars used to go here. There were pictures of movie stars who had been here years ago on the walls. It may have once been a "cool" place but is no longer. Wait staff not so good, food not to our liking, we didn't stay for desert.

We ate lunch here on our day of arrival. We ordered cod two different ways and neither was very impressive. Then one evening we were thinking since it was close too our flat and we were exhausted from site seeing that we would give it another try. Well, it was ha, like day and night. The service was excellent the... More

After tours of the Sistine Chapel or dealing with the crowds taking selfies in the Colosseum, this was a perfect antidote for a quiet evening. There is a good wine list and lots of choices among the pastas. My fettuccine with black truffles was really good. Because it's close to our hotel, we will probably spend our last night coming... Staying in Piazza Venezia / Ancient City

Neighbourhood Profile
Piazza Venezia / Ancient City
If all roads lead to Rome, then they all end here. Piazza Venezia and the Ancient City are the very epicenter of the Eternal City. Within a 360-degree turn, Roman history unrolls in front of you, from its ancient beginnings to its 21st century transformations. Whether it’s those historical playgrounds known as the Roman and Imperial Forums, or the side-street shops, trattorie, and churches, this neighbourhood packs a cultural punch and then some. Screaming scooters, battling buses, crazy cars, and lots of foot traffic converge in the area all day long. By dusk, a different vibe emerges as the neighbourhood quiets down. Don't be surprised if you find yourself passing through the Piazza Venezia at least once a day, since it’s the most direct way to get from one side of town to another.
