Not the best visit to the place. We sat up stairs and the tables are even more close together than downstairs. Eventually we managed to get the attention of the poor bloke serving, it was pretty full and he was the only one on as he told us and other dinefs a couple of times. The order was taken, repeated back and went off. It was brought after about 20 mins and one was completely wrong. A replacement arrived quickly. Anyway it's cheap and quick. Not sure about the lack of bill and cash only policy. If he forgot the order so quickly he could add up wrong, so my tip is to take a pen and paper and write it all down, or on the paper table covering, itemized and With the final price. That way there can be no argument. Be interesting to see what goes through the till and what doesn't!!

Had pizza here at the end of January and had a strange experience. My boyfriend and I asked for a table for two and we were seated at a table for 5 that another couple were already sitting at! Bizarre
We ordered two pizzas which were tasty but the strangest thing about this restaurant was the complete lack of atmosphere. A radio or music in the background would have done wonders as it was full of people eating pizza in near perfect silence having whispered conversations. So odd!!

The place is outdated for 2022 but has the charm of a 60’s small town resturant.
We went there around 18:00 o’clock and immediately got seated but by the time we finished eating there was a queue waiting outside the restaurant.
The service was great and quick.
The pizza was good but not the best I had in Rome.

Delicious pizza! We kept ordering more pizza margherita because they were so good! Don’t make the same mistake we did: we saw the size of a big pizza and decided to order 2 pizzas for 3 people. But they are thin crust, so one pizza per person is more than reasonable. (In the end, we had 4 pizzas for 3 people!)

On a Sunday, when you know you'll get lots of guests, you only have one waiter serving 2 floors and the tables outside....then you're surprised if someone leaves after having waited 20 minutes to have their order taken and being told, that it's going to take even longer. On top of that, you go out in the street and shout after those who have left "these people are in a rush, they should go for a take away pizza" ... ''i signori hanno fretta, forse dovrebbero andare alla pizza al taglio''.
Thanks for the tip! At least we could eat.

Unfriendly. Owner extremely rude when checking out.
Long wait, mediocre pizza.
Wine was good. The waiters were hustling but not a great experience especially since the pizza wasn’t all that great.

I'm never one to leave poor reviews, but I had to for this place after our experience here. It was recommended to my wife and I to come here for great pizza, but we never had the chance given how poorly and rudely my wife and I were treated. We approached the restaurant on the early side, when they open at 7pm, and we asked for a table for two. There were plenty outside, but since it was a chilly evening, we politely asked if there was any chance for a table inside. The server mumbled something and appeared annoyed at our request as he walked inside. We figured he was checking to see if a table was available, but we were confused by his reaction and we remained outside, polite and patient, until he indicated if there was a table or not. He walked back out a few minutes later, not making any eye contact with us as he walked right past us, then proceeded to light a cigarette a few feet away from us. We are not pushy people, so we didn't say anything and remained patiently waiting. Five minutes later we are still standing there and the server is now seated on a step across the road, not acknowledging us whatsoever, although he is communicating with another server in the outdoor seating area next to where we were standing. Finally that server asks if we want a table, as if he didn't know we had been standing there in his eyeshot the whole time. My wife, who speaks Italian, politely says yes please we were just hoping for something inside. This new server then aggressively says there aren't any available right now, to which my wife gracefully responds in Italian, no problem, any idea how long? He then flippantly says in Italian, 10 or 20 or 30 minutes. Now it is clear they do not care for us (or at least our indoor seating request), so my wife asks, which is it, 10 or 20 or 30 minutes? Again he flippantly responds, whenever one becomes free. We were just taken aback because, again, we are not pushy people and we always make it a point to be polite and courteous to people, particularly in the service industry and particularly while traveling in another country. We couldn't believe how we were treated during our last night in Rome, saving this restaurant for our last dinner because we heard the pizza was so great. I understand they won't care about this review and that they will be fine with or without it and, to be honest, I feel really silly even leaving a review like this, as it's not something I ever do. Just felt I had to say something because the experience left us with a really sour taste in our mouths. The silver lining was we found a really great replacement restaurant right down the street, with really great food and a really friendly staff.

I found this place via tik tok and didn’t even look at the reviews - how it’s only a 3.5 baffles me. This was the single nicest pizza I’ve ever eaten. We were surrounded by Italians which is what you want when eating in Rome. The service was un fussy but good. We paid €32 for two large beers and two pizzas which I thought was very reasonable. Honestly this place is underrated! Do expect to queue though. We went on a rainy Monday afternoon and had to wait about 20 mins.

My husband and I came here twice for lunch while in Rome for 5 days. Both times the pizza itself was exceptional, however, we had a terrible experience on our second visit... The owner was our server, which I was initially excited about because people seemed to treat him kind of like a celebrity. Let me tell you, he was SO rude, seemed very annoyed by us the entire meal, refused to give us our bill, and told us multiple times he only accepts cash (even though we paid by credit card two days earlier and the other waitstaff was letting their tables pay by credit card two tables away). He also refused to give us an itemized receipt and only said “40 Euros,” which was 6 Euros more than our exact same order had been two days before. The table behind us, also an American couple, had the same experience and was complaining of being overcharged and unable to use a credit card. Again, while the pizza was delicious, you’re in Rome and there is delicious pizza on every block, so I would suggest you take your money elsewhere.

Baffetto is possibly the best place to go in Rome if you want to eat a fantastic pizza. We spent a week in Rome since it’s a passion of ours and ended up going there a few times not only because the food is excellent but the price is quite affordable. We are looking forward to going back to Rome and to Baffetto as soon as possible.
Just one hint though: go early otherwise the place isn’t so big and a long queue will start forming.

After eating an average pizza, the owner of the restaurant charged a higher price than what written in the menu (Rounding €81 to €90). Despite I made her notice, she kept saying that I should pay the price and not complain about it.
Also, the service is pretty bad and waiters are rude.
These places for ripping of tourists should be closed down as they ruin the positive vibe of the city.

Sent the first pizza back and could not eat the second either: pizza is black stained with charcoal, burnt, tastes like ash.

I can comfortably say this restaurant serves the best pizza I have ever eaten. It has loads of variety in regards to toppings and is priced very reasonably. This restaurant is very popular so be prepared to queue for a table especially around peak dinner times. The servers are very speedy and service is quick, in part as an attempt to turn over tables and get people seated however you never feel rushed to leave once in there and can easily get service when needed. Despite all this however part of the reason for the long wait to get in is down to some inefficiency regarding tables. They seemingly have a fair few 4 and 6 seater tables that can not be broken up into 2s which is most often what they are dealing with. They then strongly resist sitting a group of 2 at these larger tables occasionally even going down the queue looking for an adequately sized group to fill it. This obviously proves frustrating as we were waiting just shy of an hour and multiple times there were tables sat vacant for long periods of time that we could see and the waiters were failing to fill so would simply leave empty in hopes a group of 4 or more would turn up.

We visited this place 3 years ago and were so excited to come back. However, sadly the experience was a lot worse on our return. The waiter was so rude, he threw a menu at my partner, banged the cutlery down on the table on a quick walk past us and was generally very rude. He wasn’t just inattentive, it felt like he went out of his way to be rude and grumpy. He dropped a glass on the floor and someone went to pick it up for him but he muttered under his breath and stormed off. At the end he just demanded the money total without even producing a bill. He was clearly upset we didn’t leave a tip, to the point that he got out some change from his pocket and repeated ‘tip tip tip’ to us in an angry tone. The only tip he will be getting from us it how to treat his customers. Pizza was average, very thin, crispy and black on the edges. Not worth the queue and plenty of other nice pizzas in the area. What a shame!

Firstly, do not go to Baffetto 2! This is not the real Baffetto. The REAL Baffetto is located opposite the Irish pub next to Frigidarium. When you walk into Baffetto, don’t expect Neapolitan, Sicilian, Milano pizza. This is Roma, and in Rome the OG (Original) pizza was made thin and crispy. This isn’t the best looking restaurant, nor is the service something of a high standard. The pizza on the other hand, wow. Me and my wife weren’t hungry and shared and pizza as we wanted to see if Baffetto had the same magic. What can I say; the best damn pizza in Rome. The older Italian guys working there aren’t friendly but there’s a character to the place which should never change and adds to the allure of this old pizza joint. If your gonna leave a tip, give to the lads making a pizza because them boys work hard, give to them directly as you leave as they really appreciate it. Take a bow Baffetto, What a place, what and experience, what a pizza. Bellissimo 🤌

Parioli
Young and well-to-do families are the street flavour of Parioli. A new kind of Rome, this area is centuries away from the Renaissance with its pockets of 1930s palaces, tony boutiques, open-air markets and plenty of coffee shops. Parioli was built as an enclave for last century’s haute bourgeois and still represents as such in 21st century Rome. Need a break? The area has several great sporting clubs known for tennis and riding, a wonderful modern art museum, easy access to the zoo (Europe’s oldest), and is nestled around Rome’s very best parks including Villa Borghese, Villa Ada and Villa Glori.
