We ate at the restaurant twice - they provide an excellent service that you can either pay in advance and either eat in the restaurant on Shabbat or have delivered to your hotel. We chose to eat in the restaurant. The service was excellent, there was an abundance of food and a choice of wines.

Neither of us is in a position to evaluate the authenticity of Jewish food, but we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Delicious artichoke and really good, tender mixed plates. Maybe a bit pricy, but then again the food was good and the atmosphere was really unique.

I have eaten at this restaurant on several occasions, for both lunch and dinner and have always found it to be a pleasant venue with friendly staff. There is a great range of tasty food, with both traditional Jewish and Roman fare. The starters of Jewish artichoke and Fried cod fillet are stand outs, that should be tried. On my... More

I wish we had read the other reviews before dining here, but sadly it seems that poor reviews are not enough to make this restaurant improve its service. We came in after the gentleman on the street persistently invited us to view the menu and were warmly greeted - and then promptly forgotten about except to receive exceptionally poor service.... After a great week in Rome for new year celebrations we decided to have a last night evening meal to send us off with all the fantastic memories of Rome in our hearts for the trip was truly sensational. We looked at other restaurants in the street and after noticing the Ba'ghetto had lots of local people eating inside we... More

We went here with great expectations. It fell far short. The fact which dominates this review is the fact that the wait staff lost one of the orders and after repeated requests as to where it was and assurances it was coming, I finally went up to the manager to look into it . He was slow in reacting and it... More

And mine was at Ba Ghetto. In Rome for two weeks and every other food experience was at least "ok" except for Ba Ghetto. Except for 1 Rude slow service 2 Poor food it's not a bad restaurant. After all, the chairs did not collapse and the sparking water (tho overpriced) was good.

Staying in Ghetto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ghetto
The mini-neigbourhood Ghetto holds tight to its reputation as a stand-alone area thanks to its nearly 300-year history as the home to Rome’s Jewish community. Times changed in the 20th century, but the tiny area still retains its mix of tradition, community, and history. Ancient and medieval architectural design frames apartments, bakeries, shops, and restaurants. Friends and families are the pulse of the neighbourhood, keeping company on the Via del Portico d’Ottavia. The Ghetto observes the traditional Jewish Shabbat: businesses close from Friday sundown to Saturday sundown.
