Enjoyed fresh hot parmigiana for 9 Euros, but poor service from staff let down this central eatery. Great location in quiet cobbled street. Staff smoking next to diners detracted from ambiance.

This Taverna is situated at Via Milazzo 5mins near Termini station and lots cafes and hotels are around. The street looked sleazy but is safe as we stayed there 5nights. We ordered gnocchi pesto with prawns which was excellent and seafood sphagetti on our 1st visit with red wine and beer. Italians are ardent football fans as they were watching... More

Good food and excellent ambient. Looks like a really good place to feel the Italian ambient. Most things go to the stone oven and look great. We got some raviolis and a calzone.

This taverna had an outdoor patio which was not far from my hotel. The inside of the taverna was also very quaint and made you feel as if you were at home. The food was good and not expensive. The staff was friendly and would come tot he table to make sure everything was good. I would definitely go back... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
