My husband and I came shortly before closing on a weeknight with no reservation. The restaurant was pretty empty, but it had come highly recommended. We each chose a different pasta and asked for a wine recommendation. The pasta was fresh and delicious, some of...More

I was walking in the Monti area and came across this restaurant. I had heard about it in a newspaper article on the internet. A great restaurant, a little different with an Umbrian flair. No tourists around. See my You Tube video Rome with Don...More

First mediocre experience in Rome ever. Average food, slow service, very hot inside and NOT a child friendly menu at all. Plenty of better restaurants in the area. So sad to have wasted a dinner night here when I love to eat in Italy.

Loved it! The service was phenomenal and the food was extraordinary. Quality, fresh, and unique! We especially loved the gnocci and the salmon. Our favorite dinner in Italy! And English friendly, with a menu in Italian and English. Highly recommend!!

We were recommended the The Golden Donkey by a roman friend and it was a good shout. It's a clean light and airy room with well presented tables and modern abstracts on the walls. What i really liked was that all the other customers were...More

Terrific restaurant in Rome's trendy Monti district. I thoroughly enjoyed my lamb stew with innards and pasta with tomato, bacon, and pecorino. The food is hearty yet refined. An excellent house red to boot!

We loved our meal at L'Asino d'oro. They provided sort of an amuse bouche at the beginning of bread, fig, salami which was delicious. We got a pasta dish with tomato sauce and crispy bacon that was out of this world. We had a pork...More

Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighbourhood just
west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as
it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet
for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season,
quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its
cobblestone streets. The neighbourhood supports unique
and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime
residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at

No, there is no dress code, although reservations are probably a good idea, as it is a small place.

By chance I was there last night and asked them personally: no they don't as all pasta is prepared in house freshly.
