Partner brought me here for my birthday, service very slow and inattentive. Food wasn't great, lobster was completely overpriced for 3 small bite size pieces very poorly paired with a very sour raspberry dressing, don't go for it! Wasn't offered dessert menus, waited 45 minutes for the bill after asking 3 times! Don't bother!

Yes, pricey, but for a special occasion, couldn't really be bettered if you like restaurants which don't take themselves too seriously, yet offer good quality food in a very friendly and lively atmosphere. The whole "event" is flexible with a good selection of fine dishes and wines which we were very happy with. The restaurant itself, perched among the rooftops... More

You will not just stumble upon this gem of a restaurant as it is on the roof of the Hotel Valdar which is a 10 minute walk from the Spanish Steps. It was by far the best food we ate whilst in Rome, we had the 3 course set menu for 60 euros each which for the quality, service, atmosphere... More

Booked this on the recommendation of our hotel. Very disappointed! Limited menu, bread waiter didn't know what bread was what and food had no flavour! Couldn't taste the ginger or the lemon, both strong flavours/ingredients that if told to you by the waiter are key elements to the dish, they should be tasted in the mouth.........they weren't! With all the... More

We ate here on our wedding night recently. We only booked the day before after eating in a restaurant underneath this hotel.(the restaurant we had booked nearby didn't reply to an email we had sent). We liked the look of the hotel foyer & decided to give it a go. we were SO glad we did. It was amazing! We... More

What a special place to have dinner in Rome. Luca was an amazing waiter who timed everything correctly. He was polite and attentative at the right times. We had the 5 course chefs menu with matching wines and loved everything! Very delicate flavours with plenty of food and the wine was amazing. Sitting there at dusk with our cocktails to... More

Great meal in quite dramatic setting, attentive service, expensive but worth it. The coffee was the best of many good expressos tasted in Rome.

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighbourhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighbourhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (21:00), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
