A hidden gem in Rome - lovely ambiance, rustic charm with delicious food to match. The service really made our night as the staff were friendly and happy to share their knowledge of wine and matching food. Highly recommended.

It's hidden between buildings down a nondescript road nearby the Pantheon...usually a good sign of an off the beaten path establishment. We had trouble making reservations online but they accommodated us right away. They helped with selecting a good red wine for dinner. We ordered the beef filet and chicken, it was pretty mind blowing. Housemade tiramisu and the best... More

Decided to try this restaurant after reading good reviews on Trip Advisor. Took a bit of finding but was well worth it. Had a drink nearby and kept going back to see if it was open so I could reserve a table. At 7.20 the doors were finally open so booked. Think I had the last table. It quickly filled... More

Have been to this restaurant a few times now, and have to say the salads, pastas and meats are really good!!! As is the wine and dessert!!! The service is usually very good and the ambiance is great. The quality of the food is definitely very high and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family! It's a... More

As soon as we entered this restaurant, we could sense the great atmosphere. The place was full of Italians; not tourists, but actual residents of Rome who selected this tucked-away gem for their meal! Always a good sign. It was great to drink in the atmosphere of people gabbling away in Italian all around! The place was heaving, but they... More

I stayed in Rome for 5 nights and stumbled on this restaurant on the first night and visited twice. Booking essential. The veal chop was amazing. Made change from pasta and pizza served everywhere.

We recently celebrated my birthday in Rome and as a surprise, my husband had booked a table at this restaurant on the night of my birthday. It was a lovely evening, I could not be happier! The staff accommodated all his surprises and were generally very sweet amidst being very busy with a full restaurant. The entire restaurant sang happy... More

We ordered appetizers, which were excellent. We got a little taste, on the house, from other dish. Main dishes - we got two good pasta dishes. In addition, each got a taste of the second tranche, a separate plate. It was so wonderful, so we ordered another main course - fillet steak, which was just superb. The desserts ware also... More

We were 5 adults visiting Rome for a rugby weekend. We booked ahead as advised & were very glad we did as the restaurant was full - mainly Italian diners. We couldn't fault any aspect of this charming restaurant. We took the advice of the waitress & ordered mixed starters. So glad we did as plate after plate of delicious... More

Osteria del Sostegno is a typical italian restaurant-osteria, hidden in a very small alley very close to Pantheon, but vey difficult to find if you don't know it. We went there after a recommendation that it serves one of the best carbonara dishes in Rome and we realised it was true! This is place is always full, so try to... More

Staying in Colonna

Neighbourhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very centre of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping centre, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
