New Italian cuisine with varied success is the best description of food in this trendy, youthful place.

We ate at Piccolo Mondo on our last night in Italy. (Thank goodness we ended strong as we'd had several not-so-good dinners leading up to it!) The restaurant has a nice vibe, our waiter was friendly and attentive. The fish of the day, sea bass,...More

We loved this restaurant- great food and service- especially Marco and Fabio who were wonderfully attentive and provided excellent wine recommendations. We highly recommend this authentic Italian restaurant just a couple of blocks from the Via Veneto.

We dined here last night for our last night in Rome. We had passed the restaurant the night before and the waitress had said we must come and try it for the pasta. We came just before 9pm, seated promptly and given our menus. It...More

Outside seating on a pleasant Sunday afternoon was good without selfish smokers, all smokers leaving the area in order to have their hits privately. Service was adequate though not outstanding but the food was simply magical. Outstanding primi piati (Tonarelli, perfectly al dente) and wonderful...More

This is the end restaurant of three in a row. It is very Italian and the menu is definitely above average. There are outside tables. There was nothing at all wrong with the food, it was tasty, fresh and came reasonably quickly. However, there was...More

We had about 50 people dining that night and service was prompt. Started with an eggplant Parmesan as an hors d'oeuvres, followed by lasagna with zucchini and sausage, and ending with Roman saltimbocca (beef roll with ham and cheese). Dessert was tiramisu. All were very...More

I enjoyed a dinner, as a solo traveller, during my June vacation. This ristorante was just around the corner from the street of my hotel. It was a lovely find in quieter parts of Rome tourist areas. Outside tables and excellent Italian style service by...More

Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and
Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a
posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and
models while bored housewives hung out in streetside
cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the
cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to
five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law
firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to

There is no dress code and caters for business gatherings as well as tourist diners. I would dress comfortably but not too casual nor too formal. I hope this helps.

Back in 1954, a landlord of Amatrice opened this cellar to offer wine tastings of a very special wine produced by himself in the area of the Roman Castles. This Hostaria then became a Restaurant in the 1960s, and was managed by the sons of the owner, in the magic years of la "Dolce Vita". Soon guests from all over the world started visiting this restaurant, hence the name "Il Piccolo Mondo" (Small World). Today "Il Piccolo Mondo" offers the authentic traditional roman cuisine, with a modern twist. The restaurant's professionalism and constant desire to re-elaborate traditional ingredients shows their intention of respecting the past to create the future. The restaurant is divided into three main halls, able to host birthdays, lunches, dinners for any kind of event, always focusing on a high level of service and an extraordinary refined menu. Each menu is specifically selected and personalized by our Chef, based on the availability of the finest products of the season, and the highest quality of the ingredients. The staff of "Il Piccolo Mondo" is prepared and organized to support our Guests in the organization of their events. The staff works perfectly side by side with the Client, and will always find the perfect way to fulfill the requests and specific needs of each individual or group. We will follow you from the beginning to the end of the event. Our Chef Kristjan Kocjan, with his great experience and professionalism, he will be able to guide you through a culinary path mixing tradition and innovation. Our menu offers a range of dishes from real authentic "old" flavours to innovative mixtures, able to satisfy the most particular needs of our Guests. This food journey will take you, from the appetizer to the dessert, through an unforgettable experience for the mind and the heart.
