Very nice place with beautiful terrace and full of local people. The food is excellent and reasonably priced, but the service was very long that day.

i'm surprised that a restaurant in Trastevere cannot cook a dish such pasta all'amatriciana and fiori di zucca fritti!! The carciofo alla giudia were not eatable they smell bad oil. We were very disappointed. This is the restaurant where we went after our marriage at Santa Maria jn Trastevere church 9 years and we wanted to go back again with... More

Had a nice meal but it was just that nice, nothing to shout home about. Having dined in a few Italian resteraunts I think they are just trying a bit to hard. All in all a nice place to eat but not one that will stick in your head as a great night in Rome

Superb food, absolute recommend the Jewish artichoke and their super tasty cacio e pepe pasta! Tried the pasta at different places but this was definitely the best we tried and will for sure come here next time we go to Rome! :)

This is a beautiful old style restaurant where you will eat like a king or queen. We had a party of 12 who all ate something different. All were happy with their food. The fish was particularly food. Sea bream with red onion chutney was beautiful. Reasonably priced. With lots of wine the bill was 40 euro a head. Would definitely... More

I'd recommend Ristorante Paris in Trastevere for its food as well as service. You'll be served by professional waiters, not aspiring actors or students working their 2nd job while spending their sabbatical year in Rome. As a result you will get honest and knowledgeable food and wine suggestions, and you will enjoy great food. Tables outside offer great view on... More

Of all the places in same area (Trastevere) this place was dead compared to many others...that shoulda been our first clue. Food was decent, not spectacular but over priced probably playing on Bourdain's show and hype. Service was a bit pretentious...too formal to have any atmosphere. When I order a 10 euro glass of wine I dont expect them to... More

Maybe if the restaurant had been full of people your judgment woud be surely more positive . Usually people don't like to eat in a restaurant with few customers , fortunately it happens infrequently and only in this low season . About the glass of wine , we have a machine to save the bottle of good wine from the... More

I ate lunch there at the end of my trip to trastevere. I took amatriciana which was a very nice pasta dish. Service was quite good.

We are looking for a good place to eat, lunch time...we are told by friends in this restaurant prices are high but food is good! As we approche , I look and like the patio looking at the Piazza...lots of passers by, lively...I enter I inquire, Immediately he has dismissive look, he says "inside only!" I see there are tables... We wanted to love this place, because we are big Anthony Bourdain fans; however, we think a lot has changed since he was here or he got an entirely different experience. We had the carpaccio, rigatoni, and tripe. The carpaccio was dominated by acidity and the rigatoni pretty forgettable. The tripe was the highlight of the evening, but not enough... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
