Wandering along the road in the general direction of my hotel after a very long first day in Rome, I suddenlyt felt the need for a nightcap before giving in and I decided to pop in here. It was an excellent choice - as I walked in, there was a three piece band with green mohicans playing "Country Roads" -... More

Well what can I say, Mark (manager) your a top man. We popped in scholars on our first evening for a well deserved pint, having walked around Rome for most of the day (Friday 18th Nov). There were 4 of us, 2 couples. We managed to sit in one of the 2 snug booth they have. It seats 4 people... More

Best Irish pub, best tayto, great service. Started off with dinner , mince pie and Irish stew! Best food we had in rome actually felt home eating the dinner! Service - we were waited on by I think chantelle or chantal not sure. Tall girl with strawberry blonde hair. Coming from the industry myself I couldn't fault her on her... More

We came across this pub and thought, why not try an Irish pub in Rome. Glad we did. Loved the food, the beer and the Irish hospitali. I really felt I was sitting in a pub in Dublin ( but in Rome) awesome

As much as enjoyed the Italian cuisine of pasta and pizza we were dying to try something else. In this place we found the best Irish stew and beef and Guinness meals ever! We went back the next day for more! Full of TVs and big screens for the several sporting events going on so everyone sporty is catered for.... More

Absolutely horrible service. We sat down and the bar was nearly empty. The server immediately brought us menus but never came back to even get our drink orders. He kept walking by and apologizing but never stopped at our table. He was very attentive to the table next to us and even unloaded some boxes while we were waiting. After... More

Description
This quintessential Irish-owned and Irish–run pub is situated between Piazza Venezia and Largo Argentina right in the very heart of ancient Rome; an ideal place to take a well deserved break from sight-seeing, put your feet up and let us take care of you with our infamous Irish hospitality. Serving hot food all day everyday (11am until midnight and until 1am at the weekends), from a hearty Irish Breakfast, to our homemade Irish Stew. The food isn’t by no means the only perk at Scholars, with 18 different beers on draught (very rare for Italy), this pub really caters to any mans fancy. Though the highlight has to be the Whiskey Collection, over 250 bottles line the walls; Italy’s largest selection. Scholars prides itself on being a sporting haven, showing every major sporting event on 19 colossal screens, , rugby, soccer, Gaelic football, hurling, American sports, you name it. Scholars consists of two bars and also an upstairs dining area. With live music three times a week (including imported acts flown in from Ireland), Karaoke, Movie Nights and a Pub Quiz there really is no excuse to go to bed early! Oh yes, did I mention Scholars is also open until 4am 7 days a week.
