We remembered how much we enjoyed this restaurant and when we were back in Rome this year, we went back. I'm glad we did, it was as good as we remembered. Cacio e pepe was great.

We came here after visiting the Victor Emanuel II monument/ Piazza Venezia. I had read several reviews, including one that said it had the "best gnocchi in Rome!" My kids love gnocchi, so it was a natural to go. Unfortunately, we were sadly disappointed. The...More

Wonderful Italian food. Not too expensive. Best pasta I had in Rome. Only reason why I didn't give 5 star is because they charge you for the bread they put on the table - it should be free! Highly recommend. Try the truffle pasta!!

Dinner on the Piazza with my children was a delight. We selected a variety of dishes and loved them all. The tortiloni with black truffle was one of those dishes we all wanted to stuff our faces in to. Service was friendly and helpful; prices...More

We had two relatively OK meals. Quite nice food but nothing special. But we made the mistake of ordering desserts. One of the three puds was a nasty tasting tarte tatin. Another was a nice chocolate fondant but was missing the orange cream. The last...More

Excellent food in an authentic setting. Service is informal but top notch. Highly recommended for anyone who wants an authentic meal away from the tourist circle but near enough to walk from just about anywhere in the historic center.

This restaurant is a nice, somewhat hidden, piazza near the altare della patria. It is a well priced, typical Italian food restaurant. The food was good. The service was excellent and very friendly. Antonio was our waiter.

eat well and stay well. that's what I'm always looking for. Here you can find both. Aice square with no cars in the middle of the center of Rome. Just relax and forget the crazy times of our age.

In the hearth of ancient Rome, in a small corner of the old capital is a place almost hidden, rocked by the streets of a Rome of the past but still forever where one feels the most authentic Roman “La taverna degli amici” was born so , quiet, away from the daily noise, where the scents and smells capture attention to the Roman walks in the streets between the Capitol, the Teatro Marcello and the Ghetto. The simple yet refined cuisine, tasty but not heavy, offers a unique opportunity to pass moments in which taste and beauty come together in the customer’s Taverna with fresh dishes and not binding at ‘sign of the oldest and most famous Roman tradition.
