I seldom write reviews but I had to give a shout out to Ad Hoc Restaurant. This was by far the best meal we had in Rome. They provided a complimentary truffle tasting with prosecco at their shop down the street before our dinner reservation which was a great way to start off the night. At the restaurant they also... We were welcomed with a sparkling glass of prosecco and then guided through several tastings of wine until we found our perfect bottle. The smoked salmon appetizer was fabulous but more like the size of a main course. The pasta special with truffles and bacon was mouth watering. The squid appetizer was delicious and the shrimp and pasta was good... More

We did the Roman Testing Menu with wine. It was great. We could barely finish all the food. Each wine they paired with the food was great. We got to start our meal by going to a truffle tasting at their store that is not attached to the restaurant. Once you are seated at the restaurant the service is great.... More

Ad Hoc exceeded our expectations in every aspect. The service was extremly friendly and the personnell very knowledgeable. They gave us very good wine suggestions. The food was simply delicious! We started with truffle pasta which was a good choice. Fish of the day was also a good choice. Interior of the restaurant is cozy so overall the dinner was... More

Such a fantastic experience - thank you! The food was wonderful, the wine was perfect, the service was excellent - the whole evening was so enjoyable and so reasonably priced, we highly recommend this restaurant. We could barely get a good bottle of wine at any good restaurant in the U.K. for the same price as our full evening at... More

I decided to treat myself to a truffle extravaganza on my recent stay in Rome. Eating out alone I wasn't sure how this would go, but I spent a full 3 hours enjoying a spectacular meal with wine pairings and could not have been cared for better. The pace was perfect, the wines superlative, the truffles were plentiful and the... More

Rome seems to have a problem with good food. Not so at Ad Hoc. We experienced a wonderful evening with all the right ingredients, a beautiful setting in what looks like the wine cellar, fabulous service from a team clearly very passionate about what they do and of course superb food. We ate from one of the tasting menus and... More
