We got reccomend this restaurant by a local, although due to Coronavirus when we arrived it was empty. This shouldn't put you off, the food is fantastic, beautifully caring staff and just the most welcoming of places. I can't believe it such a brilliant place to eat. Please go here if you want amazing food, lovely staff and good relaxing experience.

I came across this characteristic and historic place for work reasons, it is located near the Holy Stairs and the Basilica of San Giovanni in Laterano, I accepted the advice of Francesco, who very kindly welcomed me into the restaurant and recommended some bucatini alla Amatriciana, which I absolutely must try. Afterwards, so as not to go without food... he brought me some Saltimbocca "in their own way" with sautéed wild chicory which I must admit was to my great liking. A truly divine home-made pick-me-up dessert could not be missing. What can I say, I will return with friends and family, because the atmosphere is familiar and similar is not easily found.

We needed a place to eat quickly, and even though it was about to close, the owners welcomed us in a very kind and courteous way. We ate really well, abundant first courses with delicious ingredients at very honest prices. We recommend it to those who want to appreciate true Roman cuisine.

We had dinner at this tavern because it was practically under our bed and breakfast. It is too expensive for what it offers. We took the Roman saltimbocca but they were really 2 micro rolls at €15 per plate, €6 for a small plate of baked potatoes and 2 desserts. A tiramisu and a slice of cake. A total of €52, the bill was really high. We won't be back.

Imagine a historic trattoria, with the sign half on and half off, wooden interiors and chairs from the past, ugly paintings on the walls, the sad appetizer buffet, family management and, listen, one of the few to still make soup of stracciatella, a Roman recipe that has now disappeared. In short, a perfect mix to become a place of worship in Rome for the Zeta generation who wants to relive a 70s gastronomic experience. But they exaggerated. So the kitchen appears really stretched out in the preparation of the dishes, with a low quality jug of wine offered for 12 euros (which costs 2, with a mark-up worthy of a Brunello). Please, I have loved you for years, but please put someone in the kitchen who cooks, improve a little because it's a real shame

vintage environment, like the ancient Roman taverns of the past. Excellent cuisine, we had a truly exceptional pasta alla gricia, with lots of seasoning and tasty. Grilled fish cooked just right. Grilled vegetables, nice generous portion and done well. Desserts made by them, good tiramisu. Average price.

A real place, a warm, friendly and informal welcome from the very sweet hosts. We tasted various dishes, I a classic cacio e pepe, and I must say that he has never eaten anything so good. I will return with my family because I had a very good time.

Excellent location on one of the most beautiful and well-known squares in the world, the place as usual is very welcoming and the owner is friendly and makes you feel at ease....... Typical Roman cuisine, a leap into the 70s past that is no longer easy to find in this city. Spectacular first courses and I was lucky because today there was already tripe, which is not cooked frequently, but usually to order. Enjoy your meal

We found this restaurant that accepted a large group. We have plates of antipasto, then a range of pasta and specials. All were excellently prepared/flavoured. Staff very helpful. Wine range good and our red and white most enjoyable.

In Piazza San Giovanni, practically next to the Basilica and a stone's throw from the Metro San Giovanni, Cannavota was a real discovery. I was looking for a restaurant offering quality typical Roman cuisine and I found it. Visited for lunch on July 5 we immediately booked for the evening. A spectacular carbonara with crispy bacon at the right point, other delicious first courses. The seconds were also excellent. The restaurant is the typical Roman tavern. The courteous and competent owners. The honest prices.

The hosts are wonderful. Tasty home made recipes that made our mouth water. If you are in the area stop buy and have their house special pasta variations on the carbonara and Bucatini all'Amatriciana.

Together with my husband, I have visited this restaurant without a booking. Although it was already late, we were accepted. I could see plenty of local delicacies. We took a vegetable soup and it was really nice and hearty. It was like home made. We rounded it up with a crostatina with jam which was really delicious. The service was super quick and the people working there are really really nice with their customers. A place to return to!

I went in without booking and they got me a table right away, I was a single traveller, the place was packed and most were locals so I realised it must be good. The food came and it was amazing! fresh homemade ravioli stuffed with meat and topped with mushrooms, it was delicious! and washed down with a recommended glass of red! I would highly recommend this restaurant!

The food here was delicious, we visited it twice. The first time, we both had Sea Bream, which the owner filleted at the table. It was truly delicious, and melted in the mouth. The Tiramisu was absolutely sublime. A lovely fresh (free) limoncello made the meal even more special. We went again on our last night and both had a pasta dish. My ravioli was delicious, and my partner's lasagne was also very good. The staff were friendly, and the restaurant was cosy, and very busy. I highly recommend this.
