This small restaurant is what I call an authentic Italian experience: flavorful, cheerful and cozy. We had pastas and fish, all delicious, the waiter (Andrei) was smiling and joking and the atmosphere was the best. The place is crowded and small, we made a reservation and it was a good idea because when we arrived there were some people waiting at the door. The peek of the visit was at the end when they brought us a printed picture with me and my daughter - such a great memory to bring at home. So we will totally come back again when we return to Rome.

During our four day visit to the beautiful city of Rome we accidentally stumbled upon this lovely restaurant because we saw the name on Google Maps. As a music loving couple we could not ignore the name. We were received by very friendly staff and shown to our table. It’s a small but cozy restaurant and great music, not to loud, playing in the background. When finally made a choice we were treated with delicious food, I had the Fettuccine al tartufo nero e funghi porcini, hand-made fettuccine with black truffle sauce and porcini mushrooms. It tasted delicious, local ingredients and fresh pasta. So if you’re ever nearby, walk in and treat yourself with a visit to this lovely restaurant.

My husband and I were hungry and not knowing where to rst in Rome, as we walked past with a line of people waiting outside 'That's amore' we decided to put out name on the waiting list. We were told 20 minutes. We had a 15 min wait and were not disappointed. Very tasty pasta dishes.my husband had thr seafood dish and I had the mushroom truffle pasta, yummy 👍 Our waiter was very friendly and polite. We would definitely recommend to others.

How can you tell if it's a tourist trap? Take a look at my receipt, they charged a cover charge. Last time I checked it is illegal to charge cover charge, coperto, in Lazio where Rome is located. There's also no where on the menu that states there is a cover charge. Let's talk about the food. We ordered a pizza and a pasta. The pizza was so bland and simple that tasted just like pure dough. Looks like it was put together within a min. Pieology pizza can do better than this! The carbonara pasta was super salty and disgusting that my wife could not even finish it. On this trip we went by venice, florence and rome and by far this is the worst restaurant we had been to. How else is this a tourist trap? I mean c'mon the guy, probably owner Fabio Bongianni markets himself on a big screen TV in the restaurant about his pasta making class and party hosting retreat lmao! This guy seems more like a marketer than a chef. All the servers in this restaurant has a big smirk on their face from having fake high reviews, I applaud the good marketing and being in a good Toruist location. The servers look like they don't want to be there, but just "have to" serve you. We ordered Sparkling water that had barely any gas in it, they make their own water so it's not a surprise they cut corners even in making their own sparkling water..haha It is funny because we had also saw 2 separate customers also unhappy about this place while we dined and were complaining to the servers. BE AWARE of this biggest tourist trap. Check your receipt for cover charge. I suggest to go to restaurants in Travestere area if you want good Italian food.

Dear Pacalypse, we are sorry for your negative experience, for this reason we hope to see you again to show you our best service. It may happen to start the service not in the best way, but the experience you describe goes beyond all expectations... Summarizing: there was not a single thing you liked. We always try to be open minded and always welcome negative reviews, useful to improve and do our best. We are always critical, however, with those who take shots on our work. Assuming that thousands of positive reviews are fake or the result of marketing actions, means to deny our work done with passion for many years and above all to deny all the beautiful experiences of our guests. Hundreds of people from all over the world come here every day, eat well and leave with a smile. However, we thank you for expressing your opinion. We invite you to come back in case you will be around again, sure to satisfy your expectations.

I had the sensation that I was eating a microwave food. 32 minutes for a glass of prosseco and a Beer The desert(Tiramisù) costs almost the price of the plate and also not good quality Beside of all that they push me in to wait inside at the bar and ask you if gonna eat or not... LOL It’s definitely a tourist trap That’s amore about the money not about the food

We would like to apologize in case you have experienced any inconvenience and your experience did not match your expectations. However, we can reassure you that all our dishes are cooked only from fresh ingredients by professional and experienced chefs and we have never served any pre-prepared food. Like many, we come to trip advisor to read reviews - do not come here if you want authentic Italian food! The restaurant is tiny with far too many tables that they can handle. The waiters find it hard to navigate and we had to physically move our table whilst eating twice. Starters get rushed to you then mains brought before you finish starters. Food was like an average zizzi (UK).. there are far better restaurants in Rome than this. Michel the student waiter was understanding and did the best he could in his environment. Go elsewhere!

Ciao X208JQjohnc, Thank you for your review and for having visited That's Amore on your trip to Rome. We would like to apologize if you may have experienced any inconvenience during your stay with us. We are perfectly aware of the limited restaurant area problem, however, we truly believe that such crowdedness and closeness of the tables to each other give the restaurant special Italian spirit and atmosphere. Regarding the food, we are always serving the dishes as soon as they are ready, however, our guests are never rushed to finish their meal. We are sorry once again and we hope to see you again sometime soon for a better experience! Thank you, That's Amore Team

We made arrangements for lunch and a pizza making class, but when we arrived the hostess insisted we didn’t have a reservation. That said she “accommodated” us by finding a table for lunch, but insisted we could not participate in the pizza making class. By now my family (including two children) were quite upset by the ordeal and the arrogance of the hostess. So rather than spending anymore time at the restaurant we left. Once outside we called our hotel concierge to let them know of the mishap and how poorly we were treated. The Manager came running out with the reservation book to show in fact we had made the reservation which included the pizza making class. But the damage had been done, and we were not going to spend our time with them. In fact we ended up at a fabulous place down the street, Klass Restaurant, which was simply spectacular. In full disclosure, the restaurant contacted our hotel to apologize and offer a “free” pasta making class. But again, why go someplace which treats people like this when there are so many wonderful other places to dine.

Ciao mike60521, Thank you for your review. We appreciate any kind of feedback from our guests. We would like to apologize if you have experienced any inconvenience during your stay with us as well as we would like to resolve this misunderstanding. The hostess, a very well reviewed one and among the best of our staff, was informed that you had a reservation but you did not specify it was for a pizza making class. She understood you were looking for a table to have lunch and she could arrange it for you also without a reservation. We invite you again to come back and have a positive and relaxing experience by us. We have plenty of people that have been enjoying their time every day at That's Amore. This was really a misunderstanding!

We did the Pizza Making course at Thats Amore and it was one of our highlights in Italy!!! Fernando was a great teacher, he was attentive, funny and always looked after you! He kept our entire group entertained for the entire night. After making our pizzas we were served a delicious bruschetta along with a glass of wine. (Red or white). Once our pizzas were finished we sat there for another hour talking and laughing, nobody wanted to leave! Would definitely recommend this restaurant!!!!

We were in Rome for three nights and ate in That's Amore twice. The food was delicious and presented beautifully. There was a lovely atmosphere and the staff were excellent & very friendly. It was my birthday the second evening we went and they gave us a complimentary desert and after dinner drink along with singing 'Happy Birthday'. It made me feel so special. I would highly recommend a visit and guarantee you will want to return once more.

I really do not write reviews often, however after a 45 minute wait to enter expectations were high. First things first we were told we had a 20 minute wait for a table but had to wait 45 minutes. Secondly while waiting some to be seated people who had just turned up were seated within 5 minutes. However after the long wait We sat down and had a lovely pasta dish, and had our plates slowly cleared over a 10 minute period. We waited a further 30 minutes to get the attention of a waiter or waitress. Although we did want desert We decided not to have desert due to a likely another very long wait. We had been talking to two other men who were on a business trip who had been waiting outside with us and entered the resurant at the same point and had a similar idea of getting the bill and helped us get the attention on the waiter. They were disgusted in the time we had waited as they had 2 courses in the time we had our first. As we received the bill the two gentlemen paid our bill for us after we insisted they didn't have to. This was something that made a really terrible night from this resurant into a lovely memory End of the day I can not recommend this restaurant at all, despite the lovely food I feel like they need to work on their service massively. If it wasn't for the lovely gentlemen with us our evening would of been awful. Honestly just avoided it's not worth the wait and you won't be as lucky as me and my family were

Ciao N2817JGstephenj, First of all, thank you for your review and for having spent time at our restaurant. We were happy to have you despite the unprofessional service you have been provided with. Secondly, we would really like to apologize to your whole family for the situation you have faced at our restaurant. We totally understand that such service is not acceptable since you had already waited for a long time before being seated and that you probably expected a way better experience at the restaurant. However, we would like to make some things clear. Due to the central location of the restaurant, sometimes it might get really crowded and the waiting time is a lot more than it usually is, but we always do our best to accommodate all guests as fast as possible. In case some people were seated before you it might have been due to the fact that they had a reservation or if they were in a smaller group than you and your family. Anyway, we are sorry once again and we are happy to know that despite the inconvenience you have experienced at the restaurant you still enjoyed your meal at That's Amore. We hope that we resolved this misunderstanding and we are looking forward to your next visit for a much better stay with us! Thank you, That's Amore Team

Great atmosphere! We went there on our first night and it really set us up for the tone of the entire city. Very jolly staff members who were extremely helpful. The food was lovely! We would rate the food 8/10 compared to the othe restaurants we’ve visited. I had the pesto and my partner had the carbonara and we both had the moscato sweet wine which was recommended by staff and it was unbelievable! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for some proper Italian food.

My wife and I went to the restaurant to celebrate her birthday and she was really exited. They were full and sit us in the bar to wait for an available that is where all the problem began, the bartender never offer us a drink for about 15 min of waiting. After 15 min we got seat and order the food and drinks, we got the antipasto without problem but the main plate took them almost 1h to be served when people that arrived after us got served first than us, we asked twice for the food time and they said it was coming out which took 10-15 min for the food to het out and when they were about to serve it the waiter ask in very rude way if we want the food or not ( as if we were getting free food) , we decided to leave and they never apologized. Definitely pure advertising and really bad customer service.

We had already booked their pizza making class, but my daughter wanted to entertain her study abroad roommates and this restaurant was in our neighborhood, (close to Trevi) so we thought we'd try it. We had pasta knowing we were going back for pizza. Andrei, our server, was patient with our big group, and explained the dishes. Most of us had carbonara and amatriciana, which were both excellent. We had tiramisu and mille... something.....the tiramisu was so light and delicious omg! He suggested several wines also. We returned for the pizza making class with Chef Marco. A highlight of our trip! Making pizza in Italy, come on!! Chef Marco patiently showed us how to make the dough, toppings, e.t.c. shared wine with us, brushetta, more tiramisu, and grappa! He served our whole meal and shared the evening with us. They emailed the recipe to us, so we will be able to try this at home, with our souvenir rolling pin.
