I ordered an antipasto of buffalo mozzarella and proscuitto that was delicious. For pasta, I ordered the black pepper and pecorino pasta, which was delicious. I little less pepper would have made it better. Note that when ordering a "glass" of wine, it comes in half liters, so two people can easily split the half later instead of ordering two... More

We only had four nights in Rome so were very disappointed that we made the mistake of eating at Giovanni's on one of those evenings. Everything tasted fried, arrived in no particular order and my white wine was undrinkable. Yes, the prices are reasonable but the standard of food was not. The lighting is far too bright and beware paying... More

I've eaten here 6 times during 3 visits to Rome over 8 years. It's still run by the same family, 2 brothers are still the waiters with what looks like their mother still going strong patrolling the kitchen and looks in her 80's. Good tasty food and very good value, 1 litre of house red for 7 Euros a bargain.... More

Ate a three course meal and each plate was fresh and authentic. Terrific restaurant and a 3 course meal with wine only came to less than 40 euros. A family oriented restaurant which alas I discovered on my last night. Will be looking forward to eating there everyday when in Rome

The strength of this very small restaurant is its family ambiance. The dishes are average --we had good canneloni, the gnocchi were a bit gummy and the Vitello quite mediocre (were those canned mushrooms?). On the other hand, prices are very reasonable (for the most part, around 6 Euro for each Primi/Secondi).

We never get disappointed when having lunch here. I always go for the pollo arrosto with cicoria on the side. My husband had the dish of the day: polenta with salsichie, which was a wonderful winter dish. Always friendly service and sweet old lady at the till. Until next time.

One of the few restaurants open on Christmas eve. Good service. Very nice place. Ok to pay for an extra service gee due to Christmas eve. We had Risotto alla Pescatira, spaghetti alle vongole, pizza e anche un boun vino rosso de la casa.

This restaurant is a family restaurant and you can really feel it with its ambiance, it is like eating your meal in an Italian families dinner room. The taste of the foods are not perfect but they are above the average but as I said before, the best part of this restaurant is that it makes you feel you are... More

We chose this place as it was close to our hotel in via Settembre. You have to walk down into the restaurant. They have a couple of tables located very near one another. They display the dissert upfront. The ambience is average but the service is good. The elderly man in white coat is an amazing salesman. Their soup is... More

This was my favourite restaurant on our trip. Not because the food was the best (although it was very good, homecooked type food). Not because the ambiance was the fanciest (it's very homey and friendly). It was the staff (I think they are the owners). They were so friendly and Italian and the place was so welcoming and warm. I... More

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
