Authentic atmosphere as this is a small restaurant perfect for a buffer-conscious dinner or lunch with friends.

While there are many "tourists traps" around - this place is not. Nice and inexpensive, high quality food. We ate twice (note the place is closed on Tuesdays). Pasta with mussels (only 9.50!) was fantastic, the pizza and also veal dish were delicious.

A family run place, the menu was quite extensive. We had a mixed appetiser plate, three different pizzas and a carbonara. The starter was fine, not exceptional. The pizzas were good, thin crust and freshly made to order. The pasta was tasty. Nice house red. The service was friendly and welcoming and we enjoyed our evening.

We had pasta with seafood, salad and carpaccio for a total of 30 euros. Nice place, kind service. Another nice meal in Rome in a reasonable price.

A fantastic family run restaurant just a stones throw from Vatican City. Friendly staff and fast service. We had the spaghetti bolognese and ravioli followed by the best panna cotta I have ever tasted. The pizza on other people's tables looked good too. Great value for money.

While I had many terrific meals in Rome, I think this was my favorite. The pizza was incredible and the pasta was delicious. They have a few tables out front so you can eat along the street which added to the experience. I stopped on the way back from visiting Vatican and it wasn't far.

Delicious pizza, tasty calzones and great coffee. If you're in the area, you can't go wrong with a meal here. The food is quality and you won't be sorry.

Firstly, it's easy to walk past the Porta Castello. It has a very unassuming frontage and is next door to a modern café/ restaurant which initially looks very inviting. On a second glance while looking at the menu outside, there were several tables inside with "Reserved" signs on them, always a good sign in my book, especially for lunch! We... More

We went here after the reviews on trip advisor. The reviews did not lie, the food is very tasteful and fresh. Other than a lot of restaurant's I have visited in the area we were treated like I had expected to be treated in Rome. The staff were friendly and jovial which made the meal even more enjoyable. I would... More

We ordered Margherita pizza and it is amazingly tasty! The lady at the restaurant was so friendly and easy going:) Great place to grab a pizza after a day trip to Vatican city while staying within budget. Tiramisu is pretty good too.

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighbourhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighbourhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighbourhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
