We stopped late in the evening on our way back to our hotel that was just next door. We had a lovely meal and the waiters were amazing and made the whole experience fantastic. Silviano made both our visits great. THANK YOU ! It was my girlfriends 40th birthday and I asked if they could bring out a piece of cake of which they decorated and brought out with a candle and sang happy birthday. I can honestly say we have eaten out lunch and dinner for 3 days during our stay at restaurants near the Colosseum, Vatican, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and would have preferred just to eat at Elettra. Great food & great staff is hard to come by but this place definitely ticks all the boxes.

This lovely restaurant is very close to Termini Station, it's a great choice if you are staying in one of the many nearby hotels or if you have some time to spend before your train departs. We were greeted by 2 very polite (and for a good change, not pushy) waiters who served us a complimentary glass of prosecco while we waited for our food (and limoncello at the end). They have a fixed menu ("menu turistico") which is good value for money, 2 courses and a side dish for 18€ or 20€ (if you go for the fish). The food is really good, and so is the service. Overall a great restaurant if you want to try some good Roman specialties.

Friendly welcome, sparkling wine and Italian bread sticks on arrival. Vibrant atmosphere with excellent service. Silvano in particular deserves a 5* rating for his efficiency, sense of humour and ability to switch between languages. We tried to look for somewhere different on the second night but couldn't find anywhere better, so spent four enjoyable evenings at Elettra. Silvano suggested traditional food, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

The service and food was shocking. We visited tonight, Sunday 21st August waited 45minutes for our food when people arrived after us got served before us. The Aspargus Risotto was appauling and when asked for it to be removed from the bill we were met with the most miserable and unpleasant member of staff. Eventually it was removed when I told them if you had done a check back at tables you would have known but to ask for a plate change at the end of the meal isn't going to cut it. Closer examination action of the bill had shown they charged for bread they brought out to every table which I would have thought was complimentary. So unless you want to pay for it refuse it.

We chose to dine here on our first night in Rome because it was located next to our hotel. Although it was rainy, we were lucky to get a table in their small dehors in front of the restaurant. White table cloths, fresh flowers on the tables and outdoor heating lamps created a very nice atmosphere even though we were sitting very close to other diners. The menu includes classic Roman dishes and pizza. We opted for one of the fixed menus which included a choice of pasta for the first course and a choice of a meat dish for the second course for 20 euros. The portions were generous and very good, especially the spaghetti carbonara! Although it is not listed, you can order a glass of house wine (4 eu) instead of a bottle. We had 2 glasses of wine, one spritz, two desserts and espresso... The total was just under 70 eu, very reasonable considering that we ate a lot and the quality was very good. There were no Italian customers, just tourists but I would definitely NOT consider it a 'tourist trap'. The waiter was attentive and spoke English very well. We had a lovely evening, ate well and I recommend it.

We had a 4 hour layover before flying back to the states, we had 18 minutes to get foot before we had to grab our train back to the airport and they insisted we had enough time.. and they were right. Best pasta dish I’ve ever had. I have food allergies so I’m allergic to yeast (mushrooms, wine & cheese...) and they were able to accommodate! Got something like a carbonara... and my god I wish I asked for the recipe. I’ll probably spend all of my quarantine time trying to figure out how the hell they made it. Currently searching through the reviews for a picture of their menu

Arrived and we were given one menu to share. Placed our order and had to repeat twice as the waiter only wrote down our drinks. Had a seafood risotto and asked for a bowl to wash my hands free of the prawns ( which is what you usually get in a restaurant) and instead was sent to the washroom. Asked for the bill twice but waiter too interested in a group of 8 that had just walked in. They then started to move the tables and chairs around us to accommodate the group. Found the staff very rude and that they couldn’t cope with the amount of people that were serving. Extremely disappointed.

We’ve discovered this gem of a restaurant when arriving late at night. Not only the prices are more than reasonable but the food quality is amazing from homemade pasta to succulent pizzas, everything is excellent. The service is second to none. Will recommend this restaurant to anyone that want good Italian food at a decent price. Will definitely come back there.

Although the decor from outside was so well thought of, a little more colour in the dishes as well would have been nice. It was not bad but not memorable either. The italian waiter was very kind and polite but the food was quite blunt.

Located in proximity of the Termini station, this venue offers a wide range of typical Italian food, from pasta through pizza up to meat and fish dishes. A glass of prosecco served for a welcome. Reasonably priced, attentive service (grazie, Marek!).

Have never been disappointed with this place even after coming to Rome for three years! First time bringing my partner to Rome and we went every night to try something different off the menu. Wine was always chilled and waiters let us sample it before pouring. Pasta dishes were melt in the mouth, and the pizza is the best I have sampled in Rome, very tasty and flavourful without being to heavy a portion. The serving staff could not have been moved, especially Kledjis, who always greeted us with a smile and a had great banter and conversation with my fiancé. We sampled a few other eateries in Rome close to our hotel, but this one was the best. Thank you to the team at Elletra for a fantastic visit. Will come again when back in Roma.

The food here is lovely but what put us off coming another night was Italian customers are treated totally differently than tourists which was annoying. Noticed Italians got given a bread basket, ice bucket for their wine (ours was plonked on table) bottle of water and glasses also brought for them. Another overseas couple nearby noticed this too and commented about it. A third couple near us (non Italian) treated the same. If you don't want tourists don't stand outside calling us in!

We were seated quickly and the server was quiet and efficient. We both had pasta dishes that were plentiful and hot. My companion had four cheese fettuccine. She describes the dish as full of cheese flavor and creamy. I had bucatini amartricia. It was very good. We split a salad and had house wine by the glass. You couldn't ask for a nicer lunch.

Our experience here was spectacular! At the end of a long day exploring Rome, we came across this spot and sat down at the patio for dinner. The food here is amazing and a great value with very friendly staff. I started out with the spaghetti with clams which was amazing - a generous portion of pasta with baby clams and olive oil. The grilled calamari is so tender and flavorful, and the grilled sea bass is served as an entire bone in fish.

Mixed experience. Made reservations for an outside table, but told when we arrived we would have to wait behind others. Ended up inside which was crowded and very noisy and we had the table next to the bussing station. The octopus in the seafood risotto was overcooked and tough. My husband's lamb however was divine. Our third guest said the saltimbboca was good. Probably would have enjoyed he meal much more had we been outside in a more relazing and inviting environment.

Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
