Loved Il Gabriello! It was a downstairs restaurant with a cozy feel, lots of brick and small charming tables. The food was absolutely fabulous. The menu is one step above the typical Italian restaurant... being slightly more "foodie" and unique. They have a wonderful extensive wine list to choose from. It's near a lot of great upscale shopping. The one... More

Downstairs in a 1500's building is a cute and cozy little restaurant. Great atmosphere and large collection of wines. The service was great and the mood spectacular. Two main dishes and two side along with a bottle of wine was 96 euros.

Based on previous reviews we dined in this cellar effect restaurant and the food, wine and service exceeded expectations. Prawn with fennel starter was perfect and the Veal Saltinbocca was delicious with it's delicate flavour complemented by a wonderful sage flavoured sauce. The fruit stuffed with matching flavoured ice cream blew my mind!! All of my company were equally delighted... More

A gem of a restaurant tucked away on a quiet street not too far from the Spanish Steps, it is very easy to miss, as it's in a cute basement, with only a small entry door and facade on street level. Once you enter you climb down to find a small, woodsy and utterly charming eatery with phenomenal food and... More

Really excellent restaurant. We had dinner here, shared mixed grilled vegetables, meat and cheese board to start, everything packed with flavour, all ingredients used seem to be outstanding! Then oven baked sea bass with clams and tomatoes and oven potatoes. So delicious. House red wine excellent too. A buzzy place, efficient and friendly too. Thank you.

Our wonderful Frattina hotelier suggested this restaurant and it was all we could have asked for in terms of ambience, food and wine. I had the swordfish with capers and tomato source, super delish, with artichoke Roma style, steamed so you eat all of it and don't have to tooth the meat off, a chocolate and pistachio crepe and the... Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighbourhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighbourhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (21:00), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
