Very nice and attentive service. Had the house antipasti and it was superb. Good traditional cheeses and salami, and a mix of hot vegetable appetizers. We had two of the pasta of the day and both were great. The gnocchi with wild boar and tomato sauce was the best. Had lovely white wine from Sardinia that our waiter recommended. Overall... More

The first time we went here by chance and were very pleasantly surprised. When ordering Antipasto of mixed cheeses & meats we were presented with baskets & boards of great variety. A bowl with fresh mozzarella swimming in it. We were 6 people and everyone was pleased with their choices. We enjoyed it so much that we returned with our... More

Poor meal and not cheap. Escalopes were tough - presumably not bought from a good butcher. Indifferent. Popular with families as informal.

We were introduced to Il Giardino di Albino on a previous visit to Rome, by a friend who lives there. My memory was of outstanding Anti Pasti. On our return to Rome last week this place was definitely on our list. It is located on a side street to the left as you go up the hill on Via Trintone... More

We had been walking the streets of Rome for days and we just wanted somewhere to eat close the hotel Barocco. The hotel staff suggested this hotel. We couldn't have gotten a better choice. At first we thought we were a little under dressed because it reminded us of a fancier restaurant back home. But once we got in, it... More

We had artichoke salad, spinach, ravioli and roast lamb. Although the lamb was a bit salty, it was cooked to perfection and went well with a decent house red. Nothing spectacular but at least the food was decent and not overpriced. Would eat here again.

Though it is not a gastronomic restaurant, everything is good. Meat we got was well roasted. I was expecting something more creative, and more "from Sardegna". Service rather average. But quality/price ratio is outstanding. Excellent and cheap Cannonau red wine from Sardegna. It's a good idea to end your meal with their outstanding and refreshing Ricotta tart !

Be prepared for a surprise when you first walk through the door because the main dining area is in the back of the restaurant in a garden setting. A varied and extensive menu of great quality matched by exceptional service which comes with a sense of humour. All this makes for an enjoyable experience. You cannot visit Rome without eating... Me and partner experienced som really bad service from a Ristoranta so swore by reading reviews from then whilst on our holiday. After reading the reviews we thought this place would be very nice, seen as it is round the corner from our hotel it fit in perfectly with out evening. We are very simplistic people, don't do starters or... More

This is another of those restaurants that you will only get in after reading a positive review. The restaurant is in the middle of a quiet street. Then, when you're in front of the restaurant all you see is a small door. You really don't give a lot for this restaurant when you look from the street, but it has... More

Staying in Colonna

Neighbourhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very centre of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping centre, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
