Nice place with organic products. Very good knowledge on their wines. Apparativo has many good cheeses and sausages.

Stayed here for dinner, walked in and been surprised about the new fresh style. They opened today after 2 month renovation. We had a very friendly service, typical italian. They served us a fantastic white wine, GARLIDER. You have to taste it. Mix plate from ham and cheese was outstanding... nice atmosphere. We can absolutely recommend the NEW Volpetti

If you are staying for more than a couple of days in Rome, or have been here before and taken in all the main tourist attractions, I would really recommend walking around the Testaccio/Trastevere area. Volpetti is a great stop for a quick snack or a full lunch. The food is good quality and affordable, and you won't see many... More

This place is more of a lunch time dining than dinner. They cook up all different styles of neighborhood foods plus a variety of pizzas. You walk along the case and you just ask and point what you want. It is all made fresh and the turn over is quick so the food is always fresh. Pizzas are long so... More

A selection of typical roman food. Despite of the fast food style, everything we consumed was delicious and prepared with very good quality products. There you can also buy wine, olive oil, cheese, ham and so on.

We always make a point of supper or lunch while in Rome. Always pleasant people and a great chance to order a great variety of foods. Calzone, pizza, and pasta area always good. I had a really good pasta salad

Everything you have heard here is true. We had a cheese and salumi board, a spinach and rocket pie and some wine. Each of these parts was exquisite; the prosciutto was from wild pigs and was intensely marbled, the pecorino was aged and the wine... from the foothills of Mount Etna, with a delicious, mineral flavour. All this came up... More

We had some great food with locals at this place. They were kind to us and let us use our limited Italian skills without making us feel stupid for not knowing exactly what we wanted as we walked through the line pointing to foods and paying. It was a great meal and got very crowded as lunch went on.

Couldn't wait to visit their salumaria around the corner. Being first generation Italian from NY I grew up in this type of neighborhood or so I thought. This IS the real thing. Prosciutto from the best areas. Cheeses pastas etc. Now go to the store cafeteria style. Unassuming but you can get it all from great soups to desest. Don't... More

Amazing aromas when you enter! It takes me back to 'good old days' when food smelled great, presentation was interesting, a taste was everything. Price can be high, but small portions allow for grazing that rewards the palate.

Staying in Testaccio

Neighbourhood Profile
Testaccio
Put the house music on replay and you have Testaccio, an ancient Roman port and former working class neighbourhood where the bass is set to high almost every night of the week. Its collection of discoteche (nightclubs), street parties, and crowded restaurants give it its well-deserved party reputation. During the daytime, Testaccio is more easy listening than club hit, the area is full of locally owned small businesses and has one of the city's larger produce markets.
