Villa Jovis is a hidden gem. We we’re staying on Capri for 4 days. We made a 9:30 reservation online. When I called to confirm, Pietro, the owner knew who I was and said he would make my daughter’s birthday special. He greeted us personally and not only wished my daughter a happy birthday but also gave her a birthday hat to wear. The Veiw of the ocean from the dining terrace was a fest for the eyes! We have dined in restaurants all over the world so I was excited to try some local cuisine. When I inquired about the fish, Pietro brought out 3 different types of fresh local fish. The one I chose was later brought out on a cart after it had been grilled perfectly. The presentation was spectacular! The fish was excellently spiced and prepared to my preference. My husband had the veal and loved it. My daughter had pasta with zucchini and my other daughter had the tuna. The 4 of us enjoyed our dinner very much. Pietro then brought out a delicious flourless chocolate cake (he kindly did this without me asking) with a candle and it was served with complimentary limoncello. The wait staff and Pietro were very attentive. We were treated like royalty. Villa Jovis is a lovely restaurant with delicious and local food. I highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner while you are visiting Capri.

Fantastic restaurant. Lovely people. We visited on our last day in Capri and what a shame. The service was exceptional, the atmosphere was true Italian and the food to die for. Honestly the best on the island of you are looking for a genuine Italian vibe and a picturesque location with sea views and great prices.

Delicious food and efficient, friendly service. We had a delicious dinner at Villa Jovis this evening. My husband and I shared several courses and found the amount to be perfect. We started with marinated swordfish, salmon, and tuna. The fish was very good. Unfortunately, anchovies were substituted for the tuna. The second course, linguine with lobster and pistachios was some of the best pasta I have ever eaten. The veal with lemon sauce was delicious, as well. I had the lemon sponge cake; my husband had the pistachio ricotta cake. Both desserts were very good. We were flabbergasted that there were so few patrons. I was disappointed to see a poor review of Villa Jovis , and I sincerely hope that Trip
Advisor readers will not let that review sway them
from dining here. We had an amazing meal and highly recommend Villa Jovis!

We had dinner for two here in August 2020
The atmosphere is poor, poor furniture (fake tiles on the tables) and kitsch statues in the garden.
We shared 1 starter (cold swordfish with bread crumbs, nothing special), then had 1 fish (farmed sea bream sold as “catch of the day” and reported as “Pezzogna” in the bill - a high end local fish), two baked potatoes (too salted), share a cake (decent) and a half bottle of local wine (nothing special).
In the end the bill was 137 eur (attached) by far too high for the quality of the food and the place. Also I didn’t like they over advertise and over bill the fish.
I don’t recommend this place based on my personal experience . They obviously aim at the one time customer

I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. So many negative things to say.. As an American living in Italy I have never seen such poor customer service from both the server and owner. Shame on you both. Here are some highlights: To begin with the restaurant was empty but service was painstakingly slow. Next my husband ordered baccalà which was served fried after he ordered it steamed. When we questioned the waiter he said my husband ordered it fried which was untrue. Since we were on our honeymoon and the service was already very slow my husband removed the fried covering. When it came time for the bill we mentioned that indeed the menu did not say fried to both the waiter and the owner. The owner said it happens and the waiter proceeded to speak about me in Italian to someone that works there. He literally said that I ate the broccoli so what was the big deal. To be honest more than being offended I was embarrassed for them. Americans and other tourists please avoid this restaurant. The waiter said they do a great deal of business with the Disney cruises usually. When tourists return to Capri in the future I recommend to avoid this restaurant like the plague.

Ma dai non sia esagerata, un errore di comprensione può capitare, se il baccalà fritto non era di suo gradimento, si poteva benissimo non mangiare tornarlo indietro e rifarlo come lei lo desiderava, tutta questa esagerazione la vedo un poco assurda. per il resto mi risulta che per l'errore fatto abbiamo provveduto a un forte sconto.
mi dispiace per la sua esperienza, la invito a ritornare.

The only comfort of our experience at Villa Jovis was the view of the sea and the nice weather.
Indeed after 45 minutes of waiting we received a completely different dish than the one we ordered... it took us another 20 minutes to confirm our disappointment when we finally got our dish. the only taste that remains in your mouth is the astronomical price for some frozen shrimps and homemade pasta from barilla.
I don't recommend this experience to anyone, or to the more daring, think about taking a bottle because the food is dripping in oil and salt...

Villa Jovis was divine. Its slightly off the main road in Capri which was nice. Less busy with stunning views. The food was absolutely delicious and fresh. I had the Ravioli which was beautiful and everyone else in my group had the Seafood Pasta which was also spectacular. The service was wonderful and very friendly.

Very close to the busy Capri restaurant area but much more quiet and relaxing than other restaurants we visited on the island. The food was excellent and all of the staff were wonderful, easy-going and warm. The owner dropped by our table a few times to make sure everything was OK and made us feel at home from the first minute there. The terrasse is beautiful decorated with plants hanging all over. The view is fantastic!!! We are visiting again before we leave. Big recommendation!

We found this little place on TA. What a great find .... great food, great wine, great view and great service. The complete package. I booked a table online via TA and also got a discount which was honoured and greatly appreciated.

A truly memorable dining experience ! Serene spectacular view to watch the sunset, great food and attentive staff - They provide extra special birthday hat and complimented the desserts as we were celebrating my daughters birthday - We all left happy so very happy to have found this hidden gem!

My husband and I rushed from our boat tour up the funiculare to eat a late lunch here last week - and it was worth it. We sat overlooking one of the most breathtaking views I've ever seen, and the food and wine were divine. The service was delightful - kind, warm, helpful, and because we ate so late, we had the terrace to ourselves by the end of the meal. Try the gnocchi - you won't regret it.
Oh - and it took us a bit to find - look out for signs, and then you'll need to walk down some steps to find the entrance (a hidden gem!)

Really good food, the rating reflects the value for money. The starter and desserts were pretty reasonable but our pasta portions were tiny for the cost, it was €20ish for each one and while we really enjoyed the food we were left feeling quite hungry! Service was also pretty slow considering we were one of very few tables with customers on at the time we ate
